26:39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou [wilt]. |

[star!] | So many times I hear people say that Jesus wanted to go to the cross for us. Well no he didn't!! This verse proves it. Jesus said if it was possible, to let the cup pass from him, but because he love his Father, he was willing to do whatever he wanted. What's your opinion on this? |

| Keep reading and you'll find that isn't the only time He prayed that prayer in the garden. He really didn't want to go that way, but He was obedient even to the death on the cross. Praise the living God. |

Yes Tim...three times he prayed this prayer. Even on the cross, he asked why God had forsaken Him. Even unto a split second...he was separated from the love of God - and Jesus, whom truly knew God existed - did not want that separation. How much more than, will we, who have to live on faith, end up forever separated from the Love of God. I pray not!! I pray we all have the heart of Jesus and surrender to HIS WILL and not our own flesh. For the spirit is willing but the heart is evil!
God bless you all!! And thank you for sharing with me!! Praying for all humanity! |

Thanks Crystal.
I believe not only but mostly because Jesus' love for his father - our father and creator, was his willing to be obedient. But I also believe because of Jesus' love for us...he knew the cost - total and permanent separation from God forever. If Jesus himself could not stand the pain of separation at his moment of death - how could we? Jesus' unfailing, unfaltering and unselfish LOVE for all of us, especially his Father - that is true, AGAPE love that we should aspire to seek and try to emulate. Thanks for sharing! God Bless!! |
