Genesis 1:20-23 tells us:
1:20 And God said, Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
1:21 And God created the great sea-monsters, and every living creature that moveth, wherewith the waters swarmed, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind: and God saw that it was good.
1:22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.
1:23 And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.
The amazing diversity and complexity of the created order speaks to me of the immensity of God’s intelligence and God’s power, which is the reason for this study anyway.
Remember Carl Sagan? He died at 62 years old in 1996.
Sagan wrote frequently about religion and the relationship between religion and science, expressing his skepticism about the conventional conceptualization of God as a sapient being. Sagan once stated, for instance, that:
· The idea that God is an oversized white male with a flowing beard, who sits in the sky and tallies the fall of every sparrow is ludicrous. But if by 'God' one means the set of physical laws that govern the universe, then clearly there is such a God. This God is emotionally unsatisfying ... it does not make much sense to pray to the law of gravity."
The Complexity and Diversity of the Created Order:
1 The birds navigate by the stars when migrating.
2 Moths have two ears
3 The bombardier beetle has two chemicals in his little body.
4 There are over 10 million different species of insects.
5 There are 2500 kinds of ants.
6 There are five billion birds in America
7 Mallard ducks can fly 60 miles an hour.
8 The eagles can fly ____100__ an hour
Well, let’s talk about the EARTH
1. The earth is ___25__miles in circumference.
2. The earth weighs __six septillion, five-hundred and eighty-six, six trillion tons.
3. The earth spins at __1000____ miles an hour with perfect balance
4. The earth is moving through space around the sun at __1000____ miles a minute.
5. The earth is moving in an orbit of __580 million_ miles.
a. This is at a perfect angle set to create the seasons which provide all the crops, which feed us.
You cannot see an ATOM. It takes _three__ atoms to make up one water molecule. How many molecules in a drop of water? ___three atoms make up one water molecule_.
If you were to squeeze all the space out of a person, how much volume do you think he’d occupy? Lost on the head of pen. One-hundred millionth of a cubic inch.
Do you know what we are talking about when we say “The Wheel of Life?”
Ø The enzyme ATP syntheses. Okay: The common “energy currency” of cells. In every cell in every living thing has thousands of motors. These little motor have to reproduce your entire body weight _24 hours.
Ø These little machines are producing with every turn of the wheel at some _100 revolutions per second, they are producing the necessary energy cycle to keep you alive and keep you functioning. Pslams 139:14 says.
139:14 I will give thanks unto thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Wonderful are thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well.
