| OTHERS -- Treat Them Well |
|
| |
William Booth wanted to send a word of encouragement to his officers in the early days of The Salvation Army. He didn't have much money so he had to economize. Since telegrams were expensive, he had to say a lot in few words.
Booth cut to the chase. He sent only one word -- "Others". His officers got the message and put even more effort into serving others.
We all need to think of others and serve them. Others are special. They are created in God's image and He loves them so dearly that He died for them on the cross.
Believers are called, commanded, to serve others, to love others in pratical ways, to build close relationships with others, to treat others like we want to be treated, to seek others out and share the Gospel with them.
Today is the day to do for others as we would want done for us.6:31 And as you wish that men would do to you, do so to them. |
