I absolutely adore this verse.  A relative of mine went to AA.  He viewed Jesus as his Higher Power (as do I).  My relative would never step into a church, and had little to do with people who did.  He had gotten pretty burned by religious Church goers, unfortunately.

This verse tells me that this relative is definately saved.  People in recovery turn to their Higher Power constantly, for help and guidance.  So much so that the 11th step is:

Step 11:
Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of His Will for us and the power to carry that out.

I know my relative is waiting for me up in heaven, because he called on the name of the Lord often.
