TEACHER>>>>OH GREAT >>>> TEACHER... she SHOUTS

Do I get to be blessed by getting to be the first to comment on Professor Mikes Blog?

Pure folly is always cancelled out by the wisdom of Solomon by using LOVE on those hurting SOULS...

May my christian walk always speak in love and laughter... Thank you Lord I receive it. AMEN

This blog put another way....If I "have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal."  (ps... Please don't tell me expressing the truth IS love. According to 1 Cor 13, it's not WHAT we express, but HOW.)

Good words. As I rule, I try not to show my knowledge on blogs with a lot of discussion. It generally shows how stupid I am. I have to spend  my time cultivating my own walk with God and not so much time trying to correct others. It is almost equally impossible for babbler to teach me anything as I go to the Word and let His spirit speak to me. I still think God's truth and His spirit is a lot better than man's knowledge though often it helps to hear from one understanding one who has been where you are at...and it always helps to hear from someone who shows you love, even when you do not agree on everything. Nice blog.

Doesn't the bible say it is not what we eat drink or put in our body (becky that was for your crackhead friends)... it is what

COMES OUT OF OUR MOUTH????

if it is not spoken out in love then it sounds like cursing to GODS ears sometimes

PROF.. have I gotten that A+ YET... this girl has got to feed the dog... Think of this single mom trying to provide a food for her baby... YOU LOVED ME ENOUGH to tell me NOT to go in the pool halls and play for dog food and dog bones....

I NEED A JOB that pays in the natural soon... but you don't have to pray for it

I have been in a running debate with a brother on mychurch for months now. We would go back and forth, forth and back. I even got so upset I blocked him, did not want to hear what he was saying. (I have unblocked him now)

This last weekend, while in prayer, the Lord hit me, it was like a building coming down on me. All the arguments we have had, I kept going over and over! I studied and studied, after the Lord hit me, trying to see what He was saying, I did not really want to admit that I was WRONG! How could I be so off.... I look back, and see so much judgmental attitude pouring out of me and my keyboard.

I was sinless, or at least I thought I could be, but He was showing me, even the littlest sin, that I hide SO well, is still sin, no better and no worse that the most heinous sin out there.

I was being so HATEFUL, but I could back it all up in scripture, or at least I thought I could.....

Now I have such a HUGE burden off of me, but He has put an even bigger one on me, instead of shouting out at the sin, I can now shout out the LOVE.

I was like Job's friends, but with friends like me, who needed enemies?!!!!

Wow Gary, that is something else. I pray for you AND your friend. May you be precisely the friend he needs, a voice of comfort and gentle truth. Great post, great example! :-)

July 20, 2009

The debates we were having, was about sin, primarily.

My side was, we can and are demanded to live sinless lives, that if we sin as a Christian, we are bound to hell.

his side was that we are free, set totally free.

I could not except it, all my scriptures said we had to NOT sin,

his showed we were forgiven.

I wanted to "work" for my salvation, and make everyone around me "work" to.

he said there is nothing to "work" on, Christ has paid the full price.

I did not see it as work at the time of course, I saw it as an obligation we HAD to do, to please Christ.

Of course how he was saying what he did had a lot to do with it, as he can be very course.

Quote:  "Had Job’s friends shown more humility, had they really stopped to consider, I think they might have tried consoling and encouraging their friend rather than lecturing and presuming to teach. There are things far greater than being right or showing everyone how much, or really, how little, we know!"  How true that is.  I've had many people do that to me (lecturing and presuming to teach), and the thing is - they haven't got a clue what they're talking about!  As I've often said to people.  Never judge a person till you've walked a mile in their shoes, cos one day you just might be wearing them.  Or another way of putting it.  If you don't know what you're taking about, shut your face. By the way Mike, that doesn't mean you.  Its to all those who "lecture" and "presume" when they've never been there themselves.  By the way, can you tell I'm back?  Yes, I'm back, (primed and ready) and I'm blasting with both barrels.

You know we often have the habit of "giving words of wisdom" when people are just asking for a helping hand.   Words are cheap!   But the simple things that we do for others count a lot more.  They do not have to be huge things (a hug,a meal,a moment to listen).  Those things can help in times of the most dire troubles.  Jesus showed his Love by doing for others, by genuinely caring for others.

There are things far greater than being right or showing everyone how much, or really, how little, we know!

As we go through these troubling times of economic upheaval, political unrest, etc. the children of God know what our Father has told us.  "I will never leave you or forsake you" and you can stand on His WORD.  Now if we take that WORD to the street where the poorest of the poor are what do you think they are going to do with the WORD.  Along with that WORD that we are so knowledgeable in comes the responsibility to SHOW what that WORD means. If showing means giving a blanket, a dress, a meal or whatever it is that you can share along with a listening ear and a caring heart, that WORD becomes real.  This does not only apply to the streets but in our own homes, churches, jobs, etc.

It is PURE FOLLY when there is no ACTION....

Mary, wonderful!! Reminds me of what John had to say:

3:18 Little children, let us not love in word or speech but in deed and in truth.

Rebecca/Rebel...that's quite a stream of consciousness...God consciousness I presume!

Marcia...IDK = "I don't know" ...I'm still learning these things myself. :-)  My daughter taught me how to make like 2 dozen diff. kinds of smilies, lol. And theological curveballs are great, if they bump us out of a sedentary comfort zone!

My four-year old thinks she is very good at negotiation. Recent conversation we had (shortened considerably):
"Mommy, I have an idea, when I finish eating my chips, THEN I can have a cupcake, okay?"
"No, sweetheart, you have to eat your lunch before you can have a cupcake".
"Mommy, I have an idea, if I am good in the car on the way home, THEN I can have a cupcake, okay?"
"No, sweetheart, you have to eat your lunch before you can have a cupcake."
"Mommy, you're not listening to me."
During these exchanges, I cannot help but smile. And I think, "Lord, is this what I sound like to you?"

Let's see now...one-to-three-hundred billion stars (suns) in our local spiral galaxy (milky way), which is one of the smallest galaxies in the known universe. The closest know stars to earth's sun is alpha centaure a & b which are twenty-two trillion miles away. There are at least one billion other know galaxies in the universe that are up to one billion times larger than our galaxy. Uh, can anybody out there tell me specifically how an old fashioned television does what it does? What really is electricity? Why does the ocean stop at the shore and not flood everything? Oh, Yeah, Now listen while 'I' tell 'You' ALL about God. What did You say is the explanation for the Higgs-Boson Elementary Particle? Please, Just give me a concise explanation of how matter/mass is materialized and becomes attached to light waves/particles. Thank You, Thank You very much!......{Bro-ken}

 I chose.... compassion!!
Right on Mike good Post.
May I babble a bit?
My 17 year old daughter has been sharing some of her deepest thoughts,  lately,
Yeah, I do believe I have become her freind!! She has always had more intelect than I do in my little toenail. Did I ever see it. Yeah of course, but I was stuck on stupid, oh my bad, negative. OK now I've grown up some and I am able to sit and listen before busting out the Momma knows best routine or what does God think answer. The thought that came to me in one of her moments of " I think I'll tell Mom how I'm feeling, she's smarter now, I can trust her with what's going on with me" was.... {Thank God for the Holy Ghost} shus, listen with your heart. Don't say a word. Listen!!
And that's my babble for the day. Thank you very much for listening.
Love Sis Cece.

My friend, Steve C. in Richmond is a quadraplegic from a car accident. I used to go Sunday evenings to set him up with assisted care. I spoke of God as I normally do, whenever I am with anyone. He said when he was in his accident, a woman from a local church came to one of the fundraisers for his family. She said before she made a contribution, she wanted to know if he had been drinking at the time of his accident. He said he was forever turned off by church folks. He had been a passenger in a car and they were not drinking. It just sent him in a tail spin to know she clutched her purse until satisfied he didn't cause his plight.

Job's friends wondered if there was sin causing his situation. That just brought this memory to surface.

I often tell folks, I don't need all the details about something they want prayer over. Unnecessary and can get in the way if my natural thoughts intervene. I prefer to just pray and help where I can.

My new pal, Aaron was drinking. Does that mean I should have not helped or taken the gospel to him. It doesn' t matter how he got paralyzed. It only matters that I present God's love to him.

Sort of related...my daddy spent a year and a half in prison for buying stolen merchandise. Does that have a thing to do with ME? I obey the law in all things I know of. That was 22 years ago. Would I be a better person if instead my daddy were a missionary to Haiti? Don't know but I am responsible for me. When the fundraiser was set up for Steve it was because he had kids to support and insurance was failing him. Do we ever withhold compassion because of such thoughts? I hope not.

Brilliance in these messages, Mike. I am fed everytime. Anchors me. ly juanita mae
