Okay, this is a blog. It's about to be a long spill of thought from me. First, I don't intend on offending anyone. Don't be quick to take offence and if you do, I as for forgiveness ahead of time. I'm just wanting to use my blog as a blog.
I'm Southern. Born and raised. My grandma didn't say okra, she said okrey. She didn't say Georgia she said Georgie. The closest town to here doesn't have a red light but it does have a 4 way stop. It used to only be a 2 way stop. The town I do most of my business in is small. Only one high school. I get my hair done where I learn all the current town gossip. The kids say yes maam and yes sir. The resturaunt I go to gives you a main dish with three sides and a sweet tea. Anyone who wants to even think about running for any office such as county comissioner better switch their membership to the First Baptist Church which is in the downtown district. It's great and I love it here but I'm starting to have a problem with this Southern and Bible Belt place.
Let me tell you why it's the Bible Belt. Around here if you're different you are treated different. If you aren't a Christian you'll be looked down on. For this reason everyone is a "Christian", or, more accurately, plays this good ole boy system of Christianity. Sadly, and I'll say this as bold as the Apostle Paul, there are a lot of "christians" on a path to Hell. It's sickening. You're judged by what church you go to, who your family is, etc. Traditions are more important than truely following God. I notice the people. God has given me the ability to see fake. There are a lot of good, Godly, Christians here. There are also just as many, if not more, people playing a part. They come to church to socialize, and to stir up problems. I've seen it, heard it, and have seen it's effects. I'm so sick of the bloody hands. It's time to stop playing this game and a time to get real.
I don't know what this is all about and why I'm feeling it but it's just like there is this huge heaviness over the South. It's making me sick, and sad. I want to see a change happen. I'd rather be in a place where not everyone is a Christian. How do you win a soul to Christ when the person thinks they are already a Christian? Just believing isn't enough, you must believe with your heart, accept the Lord, and then take up the cross and follow him. The Lord is so hurt with this game we're playing.
