I feel lead to further my education in ministry. I don't feel this is urgent enough to post in the prayer section but I do need prayer. I'm thinking and praying about a decision I need to make in the near future. I don't know anything about furthering my education in ministry and getting ordained. I don't know if I could get ordained right now while I'm furthering my education or if that must wait until afterward. I also hear that you get ordained into a specific denomination but when the day comes for me to leave my current church I doubt I'll want or be able to stay in my current denomination which doesn't really support what God has done in my life and I feel it would be hard, perhaps impossible, for me to find a congregation to serve within this denomination.

However, since I've provided several cons, I'd like to speak about some of the upsides. Primarily I enjoy the fact that my pastor is considering enrolling one of the classes, a unique distance learning program provided by our local associational office making it possible for people with jobs to earn a degree. It would be nice to be able to have a familiar person there who I'm already used to having teach me. I also like that it is local and within the denomination I grew up in, though that is both a pro and a con. It's also only two nights per week where I can still devote time to youth ministry, doing the things I do with bands, and still having a form of a life (lol)!

I appreciate both prayer and suggestions. Some of you probably have some experience in this area that could prove helpful.
