Whewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, today I graduated!!!!!! I'm a little bit emotional right now. My instructor called us in one by one. When she called me in, she said do you know what you've just done? I just sat there. LOL. She said the class started out with 19, only 4 graduated...that in itself was a major feat. Then she said " But, with going to class and working, you graduated with an "A"..........oh man, I teared up! I was second in the class, beat out of first by one percentage point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am hardest on myself, and immediately started beating myself up for that......well, the beating myself up is over, hehehehehe......I worked and did this, my "A" is sufficient :) I want to thank all of y'all for your support and prayers..........WE DID IT!!!!!!!!! Thank YOU, LORD for the prayer warriors and encouragers on MC, thank YOU, LORD for giving me strength, thank YOU, LORD for Ken who is my biggest supporter (without his love and support, both physically and emotionally, I couldn't have done this) MC family...........I love you soooooooooooooooooo. Ken.......I love you and I thank God for you in my life WE DID IT, FOLKS!!!!!!! |

| That's common in most CNA classes - a friend of mine graduated a few weeks ago here and had 20 + in his class - they ended up with 7 or 8 left. Didn't know you could even get a certificate this fast but I will learn more next week when I visit the Campus here to meet with a Counselor for career direction. Sadly alot of CNA's here are lucky to make a little more than minimum wage though. Guess that is why they encourage phlebotomy to give you CNAII title instead.
Enjoy your new job and it's a tough career to be in especially when you have lost a parent. This I know too well. |

When I took that class in 1996, we all made it but while my grade was an A they said unless I could feel the pulse and take a count I couldn't pass. I was HORRIBLE at feeling a pulse. I don't know why, lol. I spent five years working as a CNA. I did hospice for a year and then took over Michael, my friend who is a quadraplegic. It prepared me for what I am doing as a friend for Aaron. I led two men to the Lord before their death while doing hospice. I led Michael to the Lord. I also had opportunities to help many prepare for death who were believers and just needed comforted. I am so happy for you Cindy but even more excited for those you will have as patients. I know you will have a ministry that is worth millions. Whatever they pay you, God will increase it a million fold for what you will do for those in your care. I love you girl!~juanita |

Lynne: My certification was 90 hours of class and clinicals, required by the state of AR. This ain't my first rodeo with CNA.....I spent about 8-9 years in nursing home, home health and hospice.......the pay was good in home health! But better now I will also have FREE insurance and I started well above minimum wage because I have experience. |
