From this Old Testament Scripture, Jesus made the so called "golden rule." Do unit others as you would have them do unto you." He was quick to ackknowledge this was ease with friends but quite a chalenge with enemies. Notive the last part of our text: I am the LORD! In other worlds it is by His authority and power that this can be put into practice. When we carry a grudge, it does more harm to the bearer:emotionally, physically, spiritually, and etc. Like a cancer it can drain you of all your spiritual energy and take you off the beaten path. Prayer: O Lord renew my spirit and put a clean heart within me. Let me not waste my spiritual resources nursing grudges or harboring ill will to others. Please free me from such bondage so I can love my neighbor as myself.. Pastor Chuck
19:18 You shall not take vengeance or bear any grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.
Agree with Lara! Without Christ...we would not be able to accomplish the task of loving our enemies, much less pray for them. To be like Christ is to know, feel and see people the way HE does. With Love! Great post.
