As taught by a Wonderful Theology Teacher ( Mrs. Carol Arthur) Sanctification takes a lifetime , and is time set apart for Pureification. With that it kinda reminds me of reaching the State of Purgatory. May the Holy Spirit overtake you- Acolyte Tyler

Thank you for all your commnents. Sanctification is a ways that God restores us to His original image....and it does take a lifetime but much of the joy is not just in the destination but in the journey. It is appointed the scripture says that man must once die and then the judgment. We need to be ready. Amen Love to All! PC

Thank God for John Wesley and his ministry to teach us the doctrine of sanctification. We are set apart for his service as we completely surrender to Him.

Back in 1979 I wanted to leave my United Methodist church and go to a totally different one, but after attending a United Methodist conference on the Holy Spirit that year and learning more about John Wesley's prevenient grace, justifying grace and sanctifying grace, I decided to remain where I was.  I'm so glad I did!  Eventually the denomination started to get its act together (!!!) and now, at least in the West Ohio Conference, the Spirit is moving.  I know that different UM churches have different stances but here in the mid-west we're doing okay.  Perseverance was the name of the game for awhile but our God is faithful!

baloney. Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. John Wesley had a lot of catholicism in his teaching. We are called to abide in Christ. Allow him to live through us.

I would say I am a work in progress but yet the mystery is that it is finished. I love the mysteries of the Lord. It makes me giggle...you know...the wise just can't figure it out with human wisdom...it is Spirit revealed to those who allow ourselves to be taught.

Thank you Pastor Chuck. loveyoumuch~juanita mae
