Hi Deb,
I have a suggestion ... how about assigned seating in church!! lol! (I can't believe it, that's the second time today that I've been given the opportunity to link that particular blog.)  ~mike

Mike, lol...your blog was good, and I can see you have already put quite a bit of thought into this subject!  lol

See what happens when you let people claim their own pews? :-)

Actually Deb, we are just like you guys, we move around from one Sunday to the next, never satisfied with the same view!

BK (before kids) we sat in the front row or two. After kids, we sat in the back for easy escape if needed. Once the oldest was a toddler we would sit in the back right because I could dance with my kids there. After they were all toddlers we would roam a bit but always where there was room to get out of the seats and dance. Now we have settled into right side sitters, but for no good reason. We are creatures of habit, but our family tends to adjust easily.

As I said in Mike's post, I do have a seat.  And Mike stole it one week :)  I came again last week and someone else decided to keep my seat warm :)

I do like to sit up front.  I just prefer less distractions.  And I like to sit close to the end for an easy escape, if neccessary.  But I also make sure I get around to "great one another in the Lord."

And now with the new baptisimal font, I am close to the hot tub!

We like to move around from week to week.  Gets us out of our 'comfort zone' and a chance to see and greet different people :)

Lisa, ok, I can agree with that.  Like my cats, we humans are creatures of habit, and we like to keep things the same, for our security.  That makes perfect sense...glad you commented!

LOL  Too funny!  I park in the same place at Walmart every time I go so I don't forget where I parked.  If I don't, then I can't remember where I am!

Deb, funny this came back up. This Sunday we inadvertently sat in someone else's assigned seats (just kidding), and as they walked by minutes later they gave us the funniest looks! haha, silly people! Ok, so maybe we'll try not to sit there again. :-0

checking........ok, it's there; just had to make sure I put the word inadvertently in up there, hahaha. Please people, we didn't mean to take someone else's assigned seats, it was an accident! We had no idea! Don't think badly of us! Goodness, we even had our children with us! lol

Lisa, I have had that happen, which is why I park in the same place...it helps!  lol

I normally sit towards the back of the room.  I'm claustrophobic, and the room seems bigger if I'm near the door.

ca_flicker, that is a good question!  I never thought about that, but when a new person comes to visit the church, how do they know where to sit?  Hopefully people will welcome you instead of shoot daggers at you because you sat in the wrong spot.  lol

Jess, the only time I have ever come close to feeling claustrophobic was when I was in a cat scan machine.  You sit where you feel most comfortable.  I would imagine everyone knows that you sit there too.

It doesn't matter where you sit as long as you are comfortable enough to listen, and not too comfortable to fall asleep :)

restore, there is one good thing to being a pew squatter...you can be late and still know you will have a seat!  lol
