I've seen a few blogs, over a period of time on MyChurch, about MyChurch members that meet in person. (I don't suppose there is a copyright on that topic--but I found the subject interesting) I think I even saw someone write that there were questions raised about MyChurch people being "real". As far as other MyChurch members--it would be fun, I'm sure, to "have a cup of coffee", as neighbors do-- but it's rather difficult to do since members are scattered around the world. I know I'm a real person (ha) and I do know one other MyChurch member and she's real, too. LOL! In 1995, I was running errands for/with my grandmother. I saw the headquarters for one of the candidates for governor and decided to stop by. I wanted information and to possibly volunteer to help, as time allowed. The lady in charge of the campaign headquarters was very helpful and accepted my offer to help--as my time allowed. *This blog is not about the political party--I vote each time for the candidate I feel is the better one, regardless of party. So, I did not name candidate or party. A few years later, because her husband's work required them to relocate, she and her husband moved to South Louisiana. I live in Central Louisiana. We've kept in touch through the years. Recently, she and her husband came to see me to offer advice concerning my flooding problems. In fact, they've been here twice over the past six months, I believe, both times to try to help figure out what needs to be done for proper drainage. I appreciate their effort very much. The problem is still not resolved since it is caused by highway construction project. *see my prayer request/blog She and her husband invited me to go out to eat with them and I accepted. We had a really nice visit. I will enclose one photo of the two of us, below. Thanks to her husband for doing the camera work with their camera! I thank BOTH of them for their help!
That's how I met the person known as "Grandmama's Love" on MyChurch.

that's cool! I love finding out "who knows who" here, b/c this is my fam! Did my blog help push ya to it? Hey! Anything's possible! i mean, I'm here in Canada and I still got to meet---and am meeting another here in a couple weeks--off this site. You CAN discern people off the internet; discern them by their blogs, and their comments on blogs and personal messages. I can tell almost right off the bat if there is "something off" sometimes, even if I can't figure out what it is. I try not to pretend to be something I'm not. I'm hard on myself. I'm insecure. I desperately want to please God. I dream of doing Canada/US missions. I like corny/dry humor (ask EarthenVessel!). That's Lara. You strike me as the real deal too! Love you! |

Lara, Yep, your blog about meeting EarthenVessel was one that I found very interesting. I liked the photos, too. So, really, your blog did remind and "push" me a bit that this type blog can be interesting! LOL!
I liked Becky's, Pastor DATM's, Voice in DC, and I remember one about a picnic where several members did get to meet in person--but I can't remember who wrote it-maybe several that were there did one and I remember them as one blog! (That's been a while ago!)--but it was nice to read. I found all of them interesting--even those I know I saw--but--senior moment--can't remember who they were right now. You strike me as the real deal, too, Lara. Thanks for your comment, star, and compliment! When I'm able to go back to to town that had Leger's Grocery, here in Louisiana--I'll be sure to email you a photo! |

great post! and yes I love meeting peeps from online. I have met TinaCoen but I met her before we both came ot this site. Weve known each other for 10 1/2 years now and I go to visit her when ever I can ( will be going out to see her in a few weeks I HOPE ) Ive meet many peeps from a different site I use to go to, it is so awesome. I even met a guy for Austrailia* ( Love different accents lol )

I enjoyed your little story. I think it is so awesome that Grandmama and her husband have gone to see if they can help you. I know how comforting it can be to "feel" someone's loving care. Even if they could not resolve the problem, it helps to know you are cared for :-) I'd love to meet you too if I ever get to Louisiana. Anyone coming my way? I'm real, lol. |

Donna, I'm so glad to hear from you! Thanks for the star and comment. I think it is great that you've met people from other sites--so you know how nice that can be. Maybe someday more and more MyChurch members will be bumping into each other. Can't you imagine being somewhere, striking up a conversation with someone about this and that--(like when you get your vehicle serviced, etc.)--and low and behold you would turn out to both be on MyChurch! That sounds exciting to me! Of course, a planned meeting would be great, too. I'm glad you came across my story, too. Thanks for compliment on photo. I thought it was a nice one, too--of both of us. Joyful Servant, Thanks for your star and comment. Yes, you are right, even though Grandmama's Love and her husband could not "fix it" themselves. At least they did care enough to come, not once but twice to look at the problem and offer suggestions. They were/are a support network, which is so important. All of this situation is not some minor little puddle of water in one spot. I'd love to meet you, too. If I ever come to Canada--or you to Louisiana, I'd love to get together.
