Jesus Christ opposed many of the Old Testament laws because now He is looking at the heart.
On Anger Matthew 5:21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment V22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
On Unforgiveness Matthew 5/23-24 - Therefore if you bring your gift (prayers) to the altar, and there remembers that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift (prayers) before the altar, and go thy way; first and be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift (prayers)
On Adultery and Lust Matthew 5/27 - You have heard that it was said by them of old time, thou shall not commit adultery, V28 But I say unto you, that whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. V29 And if thy right eye offend you, pluck it out, and cast it from you: for it is profitable for you that one of thy members should perish and not that thy whole body shall be cast into hell. V30 - And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish and not that your whole body should be cast into hell.
On Marriage Matthew 5/31 -It had been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement. V32 - But I say unto Whosoever shall put away his wife saving for the cause of fornication (sexual sin committed between a married person and a single person, or two single persons example., shacking up situation see 1 Corinthian 6/18 and 1 Corinthian 7/1-2), causes her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced commits adultery. See Mark 10/1-12. Where Jesus gives no reason to divorce.
On Divorce Mark 10/2 And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him. V3 And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you? V4 And they said Moses allowed to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away/ V5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept (law) V6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. V7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; V8 And they two shall be one flesh: so then they are no more two but one flesh V9 What therefore, God has joined together, let no man put asunder.
On Swearing an Oath Matthew 5/33 Again, you have heard that it had been said by them of old time, Thou shall not forswear thyself, but shall perform unto the Lord thine oaths: V34 - But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven : for it is God's throne V35 Not by the earth: for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem: for it is the city of the great King V36 Neither shall you swear by thy head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. V37 But let your communication be, yes, yes,: no, no, for whatsoever is more than these comes of evil.
On Vengance Matthew 5/38 - You have heard that it has been said, an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: V39 - But I say unto you, that you resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. V40 And if any man will sue you at the law, and take away your coat, let him have your cloak also.,
On Priestly Duties Matthew 10 He gave His disciples power to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, cast out devils. Matthew 11/28-30 He told everyone to come unto Him, not another man.
On the Sabbath Day Matthew 12/1-13. He healed people, He allowed His disciples to pick corn and eat it, and He messed up the Sabbath Day law even more by telling the Pharisees that David went into the house of God and ate the Holy bread that was only for the priest, and then on top of that He said the Sabbath Day was made for mankind, and He is Lord of the Sabbath Day.
The Ten Commandments He also messed up the ten commandments by saying that there is now only two, and on those two hang ALL the LAWS and PROPHETS. Matthew 22/37-40.
Jesus messed up the Levitical laws by saying that it is not what goes into the mouth or to eat with unwashed hands that make men defiled (sinful) but what comes out of the mouth Matthew 15/16-. Jesus introduced Himself to mankind as the son of G-d yet, He said He and His Father is one John chapter 1. Totally confused the Scribes and Pharisees. They had good reason to kill Jesus according to "their laws" many times for what He said and did, but they could not kill Him, because after all He is G-d. LOL Alleluia!!!!!!!!!
Now, the New Testament testifies that Jesus Christ makes a blood covenant with ALL believers, and HIS WILL takes precedent over ALL the LAWS AND PROPHETS but does not take effect until after His death and when one is born-again and filled with His Holy Spirit See the book of John and 1 John for Spiritual Revelation. Only those who have ears to hear will hear what the Spirit is saying in this hour.
