There is an old adage that says that "Jesus is either Lord of all or He is not Lord at all."  If He is our Lord then we are under His authority.  We have no rights for we have been bought with a price. I think about the late singer song writer and preacher Keith Green.  His song "Jesus Commands Us to Go"  He sang "It should be the exception if we stay.  No wonder we're moving so slow, when your children refuse to obey." 

There are so many things He calls us to do, like love our neighbors, to visit the imprisoned, to clothe the naked, to feed the hungry, to take care of the least of these.  He tells us to do good to those that persecute us, teaches us to go the extra mile, to turn the other cheek. 

Some how we rationalize that we don't really have to do those things.  Well, Jesus is either Lord of all or He is not Lord at all!
