| Perhaps We Should Live By God's Word |

24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. One thing will remain. God's word.
Perhaps we should read it. Maybe we ought to actually do what it says.
It is as if we are in a sink hole and everything around us is going down. Yet someone throws us a rope and says: "Here's some grace. I'll save you. Grab ahold of my rope."
And we say: "I'm too busy enjoying all this stuff right now." or "I'm saved by grace so I don't need to hold on to your rope."
Stuff makes us forget God. Grace is free but we still have to grab ahold of God's word and obey it.

Ah, but the KEY is that grace. The moment we lose sight of that incredibly beautiful grace, we lose appreciation for WHY we were holding onto that rope in the first place. |

Grace is God's power in us to change us. So if we are really full of His grace, then we WILL obey Him b/c Christ in us will enable it. |

| I think what it is is they misinterpret what grace really is, and instead think it means they have a free ticket to sin...but no, grace makes it so we have NO excuse to sin. |

| Ya know Steve, all God ever wanted was our heart, that's all. His mercies are new, His grace is sufficient, His yoke is easy, and His burden is light......what else is there.....just the heart. |

| Brother Steve, On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. God is as good as His word, not like people that make verbal agreements and you have to sue them to get your money back. My Dad use to say all the time, Son, a man's no better than his word. Those have been words to live by, cause people are pretty much what they say. Dishonesty will keep one out of heaven. |
