| IRRITATED? WELL.. |
|
| |
Here are my thoughts for today: Oysters are not the only type of mollusk that can produce pearls. Clams and mussels can also produce pearls, but that is a much rarer occurrence” Most jewelry comes from metals and jewels in the Earth, But pearls are found inside a living creature, an oyster When the oyster grows, its shell grows as well The mantle, which is an organ, creates the oyster's shell The mantle produces a material called nacre (the nacre is the lining of the inside shell) A pearl is form when a strange substance creeps into the oyster’s mantle and irritates the mantle (you know when we get a splinter…well, the pearl is developed when the oyster gets a splinter To protect itself, the oyster shroud’s the splinter The mantle hides “the irritant with layers of the same nacre substance that is used to create the shell. This eventually forms a pearl” “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well” (Psalm 139:14). Christians live in the world (oyster), but all the irritants in this world turn us into God’s pearls. Each problem we face, transforms us into pearls. “Many are the afflictions of the righteous; But the LORD delivers him out of them all” (Psalm 34:19). In order for many pearls to be produced, many obstacles/problems/hurts/pains/betrays/sorrows/disappointments have to irritate the oysters. When you are going through uncomfortable situations, know this “Let us not become weary in doing good..." Can't hardly see the pearl, right? But it's there! 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good! Happy is the man who takes refuge in him! This is how God transforms us!

[star!] | You are the Remarkable One. What a lesson and my favorite scripture too. I see my story in the cotton field and you have inspired me to write the story. On my business cards is Psalm 139:14 and my business is called "Sew Perfect" and I've always felt the two just went together and now I see why, my cotton field is just like your oyster shell and if you don't mind I would like to model my testimony after this lesson. I did not see the scripture and the name of my business at the cotton field until I read this. Yes you are the Remarkable One and I'm glad God chose you for such a time as this. You keep blessing us, God is pleased. Bless you and your family, I loved when you called them your "Tribe" in you last blog. Glad you had a wonderful vacation, I an so looking forward to my cruise. |

[star!] | My oldest brother was telling me about this years ago...he said the substance the oyster secrets to cover the irritant is somewhat like our tears. :) It made me think of the Pearl gates of Heaven...and wonder if all of our tears are applied to the entrance into Glory. :) |

[star!] | This i a great teaching Destiny. I've always loved pearls and I'm fascinated by how hte irritation of the pearl gives way to a beautiful jewel. Your blog reminds me of one done some time ago by Jan Abney on this site about refiner's fire in relation to precious metals. Great job and I love those pearl earrings. Are they yours? |
