10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 10:5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; I've heard so much from so called Christians, I can't with stand the attacks of Satan on my life. Beloved of God, Paul lays out a scripture pattern, for how one is equipped to win in this battle with the forces of darkness. You can't defeat the devil in the flesh. Jesus after awaking his disciples from their sleep, they were suppose to be watching and praying. Jesus said, the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Jesus also warned us that flesh and blood will not inherit the kingdom of God. Paul speaking to the Corinthians about the weapons of our warfare not being carnal, no but mighty through God. Elijah was being sought after by King Ahab, so the king sent an army of fifty out to arrest the man of God. The captain called for the man of God, Elijah said, If I be a man of God, let fire fall from heaven and the army of 50 was consumed. Ahab being a slow learner, send another army of 50 with the same results. Paul says the weapon's of our warfare are mighty to the pulling down of strong holds. The strong holds of your life is the place that Satan constantly attacks you. Paul says to another church going through attacks in this wise, give no place to the devil. If in your sinful past, you had a problem with drinking. Stay out of the bars, shun the very appearance of evil. Got friends, so called that are drinkers, cut ties and fellowship with people that will not drag you down. Casting down imagitions, Don't see your self defeated with the grasshopper verses giants mentality. The devil has the canny ability to get people to see things a lot worse than what they really are. |
