It was a great service in church this morning and one Scripture that the Pastor brought out today really hit home with me, even though its one I've probably read a hundred times before:

He is able to keep what we have entrusted to Him and He is faithful, right?  So what have I committed to Him?   My salvation of course; I can't save myself, I'm dependent on God for that.  My life..hmm, too general.  My finances? My house?  My dog?  All good..all easy...hmmm...little nudge, nudge from the Spirit. My health? How about my "rights" (don't remember Jesus fussing about His rights when He died on the cross for me)?  Getting a little harder here.  My past hurts?  My hopes and dreams?  Ahh... I see, He really does want it all.  Even the hard stuff, even the stuff I think is "mine."

But if I know Him, and believe Him, the Amplified Bible elaborates on that as "adhered to and trusted in and relied on," why do I hold back?  I have relied on Him before and He has proved His faithfulness. 

Father, please forgive me for holding any piece of myself back from you; I entrust you with all of me and I know that you are faithful to keep what has been committed to you.
