CeCe, I usually read both versions in my studies.  I grew up on KJV but later for Bible Study back in the 80's I was directed by my teacher to the NIV.

Oh. That's a good idea. Cuz some of those words
from the KJV are difficult. I got a really good KJV Bible study, Bible.
Gives references to the words that are not clear, directs me to other scriptures to line up with each other and really good footnotes but sometimes it doesn't line up with my spirit so I see what other versions say. Amen?

Spurgeon's Story on Psalm 91:9-10

Spurgeon says, "In the year 1854....the neighborhood in which I laboured was visited by Asiatic cholera...and almost every day I was called to visit the grave. My friends seemed falling one by one, and I felt or fancied that I was sickening like those around me...As God would have it, I was returning mournfully home from a funeral, when my curiosity led me to read a paper which was wafered up in a shoemaker's window...it bore in a good bold handwriting these words: 'BECAUSE THOU HAST MADE THE LORD, WHICH IS MY REFUGE, EVEN THE MOST HIGH, THY HABITATION;THERE SHALL NO EVIL BEFALL THEE, NEITHER SHALL ANY PLAGUE COME NIGH THY DWELLING.' The effect of my heart was immediate. Faith approriated the passage as her own. I went on with my visitation of the dying in a calm and peaceful spirit; I felt no fear, and I suffered no harm..."

I often think of God's love like a blanket,
The blanket of comfort
the blanket in which we can hide
The blanket that sheids us from the heat of the day and cold of the night
The blanket that enfolds us.
soft and snuggly
The blanket that becomes our tent
Sorry if I have drifted away .

OH MY!!! Today an older white lady rang the bell. I was like...who is this (in my head. I stuck my head out the window to find out. She said she was here for church. She said she found our website online. She said she has been looking for a church for over one year. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. We haven't had any visitors, just the kids (and foster daughter who is eating up everything about God) and husband. The lesson was brief and this lady had the sweetest spirit. She is a Christian and is all alone out here. Please pray for her. Guess what! She even started quoting Psalm 91. I thank God because her presence was a gift from God. God blessed her and he blessed us too. Psalm 150 Tabernacle is on God's mind.

Hi Remarkable Terry:)

She had a dream one night that stan killed her and she saw it in her dream. I was up and heard her running down the hall. She jumped on me and almost knocked me down. She was so scared that she could not breathe. We were up night after night. She started developing asthma at that point. We read Psalm 91 night after night after night. We prayed. We discussed that the enemy could not harm her because Jesus protected her. We even discussed the fact that we were Believers and even if we died we would go to Heaven because we were saved. She slowly came around. I was so so worried about her.

There was a time that I also heard the enemies voice, in 1995. God won!!

Eight days have gone by and I have encounted experiences that Psalm 91 helped me to understand and also pray for people.  I have encouterd acts of evil and selfishness.  I do not keep a list of things I have done for people and my gifts and service do not have strings attached.  I am blessed with so much peace and joy and even though I still have a lot of tears left, I know all this journey will not and shall not be in vain.  I know God loves me and in His Time, His Will, will be done.  I'm excited about the new destiny He has Just for me.  And what God has for Me is Just for Me.

Psalm 91 for 91 days, Day 19. When I think about family and friends passing into eternity I think about how we take refuge in God's arms for comfort for our grief. There are times when someone passes and you know they are in a better place no ...more suffering, no more pain and they have joined their loved ones also in Glory. That's enough to give me peace tonight as I think about my cousin, Mrs Ruth Pottillo.  She was a woman of character, class and love God with all her heart.  Her faith was strong as I saw her burry her daughter, Husband and two sons.  She will be so missed by her son, daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends and many neighbors of more than fifty years.

Terry, I was reminded of something I had forgotten that happened to me 5 years ago and it is about this exact chapter Psalm 91. Lara posted a blog about a man reveling some things he said God showed him, and in the video, Psalm 91 was quoted. I remembered you and then came back to rememberance the event in my life.

I was newly saved, so loved reading my bible that I would read while driving down the road in my semi truck. Yeah, that was foolish, but on I 10 in Fl coming back from Pensacola, it is a straight, long, and boring trip. I figured it was safe enough and easy to read while watching the few cars in front on me, what would it hurt?

Unaware that traffic was getting heavier (yeah, the bible gets me out of my world sometimes) I came to the passage in Psalm 91:11. Just as soon as I read it, there was a pause in my spirit as if God was sinking that in me deeply. I was almost like in a seperate realm of the spirit while seeing everything go on around me. Watching  events happening around me but being apart from it, you know? This is happening in real time in mere seconds, but almost slow motion in my head.

All of a sudden, a minivan heading west veered off the road and came barrelling into the east bound lane where I was. In front of me another semi hit it head on, killing the people instantly, hijacking that truck into the woods on the right. The driver was airlifted into a helicopter. The cars in front of me tried to stop but began a series of rear end smashups like dominos. There were cars on my right so I couldn't go there. The car in front of me had kids in the back looking at me with their arms raised as if to help shield themselves from 80,000 lbs. It would be futile to do, but that is our instint. They had hit the car in front of them already.

I locked up my brakes, smoking the entire road like a movie scene, while almost being in a trance. I wasn't even driving the truck but holding on fearing I am about to kill a car load. My truck swerved to the left as though somebody grab it. I couldn't think that quick and even if I could, that is suicidal to attempt while loaded as the truck normally would flip being top heavy. Instead, I came to a stop right beside that car and looked down at them to see that, while they had hit the car in front, the ghostly look in their face showed the fear it was over for them. Almost in dis belief, they started hugging all the kids and each other. Sound started fading in as I heard crash after crash coming from behind me.

Looking back, I saw every car on both lanes were involved in this scene. Those in front of me and those behind me. I was the only one not hit or involved. Completely off the road on the left shoulder as if set apart from this tragedy. Goose bumps and a shaking so bad, I could hardly grip the steering wheel, nearly kept me from being able to move my truck for the medic's and firetrucks. Once cleared from that, I stopped to pray and calm down when just as plain as day, that verse came back to me with another, " I will show myself to to you. You will be my people and I will be your God!" He did. Amen.
Destiny Diadem
August 29, 2009
That was amazing. Thank you God. Angels were driving that truck. Those kids in the car never forgot that.

91:2
I will say of the LORD, [He is] my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. God keeps reminding me to trust him. He's also showing me that 91:15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him:

I pray eveyone will be refined as he/she reads Psalm 91. God loves us.

If it wasn't  for Psalm 91 these past 23 days satan would have taken me out, but God said No.   Yesterday I got a text message that my health insurance has been canceled since July 30 because they couldn't pay the bill.  God is my refuge and my doctor, he has me covered with feathers and is protecting me from the arows that fly by day and that is good news.  I want to share a story I got from my divorce care e-mail this morning.  An on time God.....
PART OF DIVORCE CARE E-MAIL TODAY........
"I had nothing--and that's the moment when I had more than I ever had in my life because that's when God the Holy Spirit started flooding my heart and filling all those empty spaces.
"We live in a fallen world. Christians distinguish themselves by how they handle the hardship that comes their way. It's a matter of trust, and your trust must be in our Holy God. He will direct your path. I am living proof."

The answers to Cynthia's prayers began coming right away, in ways that Cynthia could never have expected. God is always faithful, and her passionate plea to you today is to trust Him.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Holy Savior, I believe that You are on the throne and that You can be trusted to guide me through these hard times. Amen.

If you want to read the whole e-mail message me your e-mail and I will send it to you tonight.
Have a very blessed day and as always keep me in your prayers.

I NEED YOU LORD...RIGHT NOW
PSALM 91

Right now I need you Lord
to come into my space
All the arrows are flying
And headed for my face.

The Adversary is busy
Plotting, up all night
And when the daylight comes
He is all up in my sight.

I'm on my knees daily Lord
thanking You for Grace
But when the adversary comes
I need a hiding place.

I need you Lord right now
Just put me in your arms
You have to keep protecting me
From those who do me Harm.

It's day 26, can you believe it.  Psalm 91 for 91 days has been an awesome retreat for me.  I've needed His refuge more than ever these past three months of my journey.  The arrows are flying but I know He has me covered with feathers, I am taking refuge in Him for everything.  In my weakness He is made strong and saints, we do get weak.  I'm tired so in my refuge with God I am seeking rest.
God is my everything and I only wished I could have seen that a lot earlier in my Christian walk.  My Re-Birthday was Sept 1, 1985 I gave my life to Him and on Sept 15, 1985 I was Baptised.  I invited Him in but I was one to try to "Help" Him out, I was always in "His Business" and now I know He didn't need my help then and He doesn't need it now.  He had a way of letting me know this through the trials He has sent my way these past 14 months.  I am so gratful although very painful for lessons learned.
Thanking you all of reading with me, praying for and with me and encourageing me and others.  You are a blessing and I Appreciate You.  ILYWMWH.

Friday Blessing....For a moment this week I forgot Whom I belonged to.  My Spirit was down, didn't know why but I tarried there longer than I should.  My dear friend message me and said, Terry, God may be tired of hearing your name and WOW a real wake up call.  Did I forget how far I've come on my journey.  Did I forget all the past prayers and word of encouragement.  Did I forget all the Love & Hugs.  Yes for a day I did, I forgot Psalms 91 where God told me "He is my Refuge"  God told me "I am sending my Angels"  God told me "I will cover you with Feathers".  So today I come saying thank you to my friend for reminding me how truly blessed I am, How I'm already so covered by the Blood, Prayers, Love, Encouragement and Joy.  Thank you God for giving me today to "Get It Right".  Thank You MC for your honesty and love.  GOD BLESS YOU

91:5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, Nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 91:6 For the pestilence that walketh in darkness, Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 91:7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, And ten thousand at thy right hand; `But' it shall not come nigh thee. 91:8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold, And see the reward of the wicked.
Psalms 91:5-Traveling today to Is
54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of Jehovah, and their righteousness which is of me, saith Jehovah.

I'm Traveling over four books to Isaiah 54:17.  See the connection?  I'm feeling it.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY..HE IS DOING GREAT THINGS.

An encounter with negativity can be contagious.  Strife that is experienced in one place can be carried to another place.  The encounter has a way of drawing us into an Emotional and Spiritual decline.  Keep yourself in God's Word so your Spiritual Immune System will be able to withstand exposure to the negative around you.  GOOD BLESS AND HAVE YOUR MOST POSITIVE DAY EVER.!

Wonderful posts, Terry! I just saw this blog back up among the active blogs...great! I'm still buzzing through Ps91 every day. God is beating it into my head that he is my "refuge". That really is pretty amazing. When everyone is against me, I still have God. Or particularly, God as he has revealed himself to me in his word. :-)

Thank you Terry for your faithfulness and encouragement on reading this wonderful
message from God. He is my refuge, in Him will I trust.
Feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment. I can't seem to find a homeschool program that is going to meet my daughters needs. And for me to be able to afford it.
I just need to call on the Lord,
God bless you Terry and all who are reading. Stay focused. God will see us through!

This morning I will be making the journey down the road to Calvert County, Maryland.  Beautiful county near the river.  I remember childhood summer days there and hugh family picnics at the Family Homestead.  This morning I am thinking about my Great-Grandmother Rosa Reynolds and during her last years at a nursing home and our Sunday visits.  Nobody knew of a disease call Alzheimer's like we do now.  She was blind and as we went to her one by one she would touch my face and stroke my hair and would say......."Catherine (my mothers name)  Now don't forget to wash your ribbons for church tomorrow"  My middle name is Catherine and I suppose when she stroked my face that's who I was to her.  My mom said they had to wash their ribbons for their hair every Saturday night for church on Sunday.  Today we will lay Flowers on Great-Grandmother Roas's grave site in Calvert County, I'm going to put a Beautiful Pink Ribbon on it.  One thing I know for sure.  Great-Grandmother Loved The Lord and she would be please that I am reading Psalm 91 for 91 days.  THIS IS DAY 48 AND HE IS STILL MY REFUGE....AMEN

AMAZING,  That's our God.  Yes, I'm still reading Psalm 91 and it's day 61.  My other reading with this Psalm was is in 1,2, & 3 John and today I'm reading in 1 & 2 Peter.  My praise report has been letting go this final stage of anger.  A new anger creeped into my spirit a few months ago and I could not shake it.  Well I have been delivered  and what was causing the anger no longer has power over me.  I feel so blessed by God that he has to let me go through to get to.  The "to" is a Deeper Deeper I mean Real Deep with Him, one on one.
MC Family,  Prayers really have changed my life, the way I feel and best of all My Thoughts.  And that's "GOOD NEWS"  'MUSIC TO MY EARS"

1:3 that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you also, that ye also may have fellowship with us: yea, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ: 1:4 and these things we write, that our joy may be made full.

Praise the Lord Terry. I am very happy for you. You have been diligent in your reading and seeking the Lord and you are reaping the benifits.
I myself have failed in my commitment to read daily. I confess, I let cares get the best of me. I have been meaning to write this earlier, but was distracted. I feel the need to read.
Love you Sis. You are inspiring.

It's day 75, reading and meditating on Psalm 91, God being my Refuge during this time and also reading Romans.  Singing "God Is"  the joy and the strength of my life. removes all pain, misery and striff.  He promised to keep me never to leave me, He's never ever come short of his word.........

1:7 Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that take refuge in him.

Can you believe it's been 89 days.  So much is going on in the world.  I was just thinking about all the tragedies that are happening in the world.  Just yesterday the mass killing at Foot Hood, while our prayers go out to them there is the H1N1 virus that thave killed 19 people in my state two of whom have hit my home churh families.  I still find great Refuge in Him.   While none of this that is happening is understantable to us we must keep seeking His Kingdon through the Word of God.  Psalm 91 is comforting to me it has taken me deeper into his Word in  my New Testament studies.  November 8th will be 91 days, Isn't it AMAZING that day is SUNDAY.....GOD BLESS

Wow time has gone by. I have not read Psalm 91 every day. I have to be honest.
I do know most of it by heart though. I'm like Mike, (smile). I have read it so many other times. To me it is full of Gods promises and a very good study tool. I have notes leading to other scriptures that make Psalms 91 so much more of a blessing. And lately the words ring with hope and comfort as the days we live in are filled with danger. But it will not come nigh me nor my family.
I'm so glad to hear it has helped you Sis.
If I can just get in these last few days!
Yes. A Sunday Blessing forsure.
God bless you and looking forward to sharing notes and thoughts when the 91 days are over with. God willing.
Love you, Sis Cece.
P.S. you share first.  ((((( HUGS )))

Sunday was day 91.  We may not have read it everyday but everyday I claimed Him as my Refuge, I was feeling the Angels and I have grown in Committment.  I am in the mist of the end of my Journey and looking forward to the Beginning of MY NEW DESTINY.  I wish we had our "Status" option back so we can update everyone.  Don't you miss it to.
Thanks everyone who read when they could, I felt the Unity.
LOVE YOU MUCH...

4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things. 4:9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
