102:27 But thou art the same, And thy years shall have no end.
When I read this, it is my understanding that God doesn’t change. Also, in the Old Testament Ecclesiastes 1:9 says
1:9 That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
The scripture doesn’t say “There will be new things under the sun”. It specifically says “There is nothing new under the sun”. Let’s take a look at what the New Testament has to say in regards to this teaching. Hebrews 13:8 says
13:8 Jesus Christ `is' the same yesterday and to-day, `yea' and for ever.
In the book of James Chapter 1 verse 17 it plainly says
1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, neither shadow that is cast by turning.
I don’t proclaim to be a Bible Scholar by any means, but I believe that we need to be more like the Bereans.
17:11 Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of the mind, examining the Scriptures daily, whether these things were so.
We should be consuming The Word of God and allow it speak to us. The Word of God is infalliable and will not lead us astray. Jesus warned us that there would be deception in the Last Days and if we don’t pick up our Bibles and devour the Word we can be deceived.
21:8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am [Christ]; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
Let us put our Faith and trust in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and not in man. Any good Pastor would willingly want you to dive into the Word of God for yourselves. So, please Brothers and Sisters let us open our Bibles, dive in head first and feast upon the Holy Scriptures that we are so blessed and have the freedom to read.
