14:1 As for the man who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not for disputes over opinions. I really like this verse. How often I see 'mature' Christians crush baby christians or someone new to Christ over such trivial things. Ephesians 4:29 says we need to build one another up. Yet as Christians we are pretty good at tearing each other down! I understand when cats and dogs fight. They are two different creatures with two different agendas. But Christians fighting is stupid. Just like cat fights are stupid. No one likes cats fighting outside their window at three in the morning. and christians arguing in cyberspace or on TV or in person is just as anoying. Be warned I throw empty can and rotten tomatoes at cats fighting at three in the morning! |

I was just saying this on another blog of this Scripture; We go and get after new Christians--and really even older Christians, about--what? Let's see. Hmmm, you shouldn't be listening to secular music. You shouldn't be watching that movie. You should have quit smoking by now. You shouldn't be showing cleavage. You shouldn't be doing this b/c I don't. You should be doing that b/c I am. Be on my time line. We's all cookie cutters and so God does everything in us and to us on the same exact time line. Yeah, right! Can you tell I"m being sarcastic, here? lol I have often wondered, and asked God about some of the stuff, and He has basically told me not to worry about what this person or that person is doing. I saw a pastor of a huge church, his profile (he's not on here anymore, so you won't be able to guess-lol), and the music he listened to and stuff he watched and I couldn't believe he could. I was like, "God, how come that man who is so "spiritual" can watch and listen to taht stuff, and I can't???" But like verse 4 of the above says, "Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and stand he will, for the Lord is able to make him stand". |
