God is doing great things here in the University of Eastern Philippines Church which is a ministry of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines. Mr. Bengie and Pastor Jun Jun are the leaders of the campus ministry. They have many good things planned for the campus ministry. The students will be involved in the worship service on youth Sunday. There is a spiritual retreat that is scheduled sometime in the near future.

There has been a Wednesday night Bible Study started by the church leaders. This has been quite successful. Sister Lina started the cottage prayer meetings which are in the homes of church members each Friday.

We need to be praying for the family of Rosario Dela Rosa as she was called home on August 9, 2009. Her funeral service was this morning. Reverend Ephraim Delos Santos Jr. performed the services. Many people cam to the vigil services which has been going on since August 10th. It has really been great to see how people have come together to support this family. There were many different speakers, liturgists, song leaders, and even the choir members of the University of Eastern Philippines Church were involved in the services. There have been many people behind the scenes assisting in these services as well. Many people brought flowers for the family. Others provided snacks for those attending the services. On behalf of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines I thank each of these people who were helping with the spiritual needs of this family. 

The lay pastors and church leaders have been involved in the church services in the absence of Reverend Ephraim Delos Santos Jr. The services have been really great, and you sense the presence of the Lord in each of these services. May the Lord continue to bless the University of Eastern Philippines Church and the United Church of Christ in the Philippines.
