| Does Anybody Have A Thirsty Soul? |

63:1 A Psalm of David, when he was in the Wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God, I seek thee, my soul thirsts for thee; my flesh faints for thee, as in a dry and weary land where no water is. David describes himself as a thirsty soul desperately seeking a drink of living water -- fainting with desire for God. He ends his cry by saying: "as in a dry and weary land."
Dry and weary times create spiritual thirst -- a burning desire to walk with God. In times of plenty with beverages abounding in their plastic bottles and flimsy cans, spiritual thirst drys up. God is approached with logic, marketing, entertainment, and intellectual discussion. We develop terms like "user friendly church" to describe our efforts to water down the Truth in an attempt to appeal to people who have no spiritual thirst. (If they don't want the Gospel, give them entertainment and sneak a little Bible in with a poorly acted skit.)
But is anybody thirsty for God? Does anybody want a great big drink of living water? Is anybody thirsty enough to look steadfast at the offense of the cross and say, "Jesus, I will follow You no matter what the cost!"?
