| Thank You for praying for us, Dear Jesus! |

17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name, which thou hast given me, that they may be one, even as we are one. I am always blessed when I read Jesus' prayer for us, His followers. What a blessing that He thought about us before He went to the cross and asked the father to protect and "keep" us.
Jesus prayed that we be one, even as He and the Father are one. Now that's some unity. Unfortunately we don't see the answer to that pray when we look at the church. How divided we are. How unkind to each other. How we disagree on Jesus and His teachings.
Yet Jesus prayed God's heart -- that we be one. But how can we be one?
If we try to agree on doctrine, we will argue. If we try to achieve instutitional unity we will build a compromised organization.
Unity comes through passionately seeking, loving, and obeying Christ. When I meet someone who deeply loves and obeys Jesus there is instant kinship. She/he may be a strange in the flesh, but in the Spirit we recognize that we are already united.
Jesus' prayer was answered. Those who are truly His are united in their hearts. The same Holy Spirit lives in all genuine believers. Our unity is amazing. "Christ in you the hope of glory."

[star!] | It's true. After my husband had fasted for a time, he went out in the city, and he could literally see this glow ( assume he was seeing in the spirit realm) about this couple, who we are guessing were from the Gospel Hall church. He walked by them, knew they were Christians, and out of his mouth comes, "Praise the Lord!" He felt that kinship. Doctrinally there's a huge diff between what they believe and we do on certain things: Eg. They don't believe in the gifts of the Spirit, we do, the women where no make up and have long hair and dresses and wear hats in church, nor can they speak in church, and well---look at me. They don't have instruments in the church, and we do, and so on and so forth. And yet....they obviously truly loved the Lord. God has all kinds in all different denominations, and the righteous shall shine forth. |

| Thanks, Lara. That is a great illustration of how we are connected in the Spirit even if we disagree on doctrine. |

[star!] | Steve as always you bless me.
Lara, i have had that experience as well, God is truly an awesome God.
He said in His Word, I love the phrase "He said, in His Word" you don't have to go all over creation to find out what He said, just go to His Word, so many scriptures can be used to reference it but in Romans He said there is no difference between Jew or Greek and when you lift that surface and look under it, it is inclusive of All who walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh. |
