I live in a pretty small and sheltered world.  Even though I work full time, I am blessed that my co-workers are all Christian.  We don't talk a lot - as we all work from our homes, but we do chat enough to know that we are all Christians.  My extended family members are all Christians.  Most of my neighbors are Christians.  My friends are Christians.  However...... while they may be saved, do they really have a close and personal, intimate relationship with the Lord?  I know I didn't for many years.  I was saved as a child, and I believe I was saved, but I was missing out on knowing the Lord as anything but Savior.

I spent 15 years being married to a pastor and still missed that intimate relationship with the Lord.  It wasn't until my husband left me that I really learned what it meant to have a personal relationship with the Lord.  As I said - I was saved -- I worked for Him -- but I didn't really know Him like I do now.  I'll never forget the night my husband left.  All I could do was pray.  I spent most of that night praying and realizing that God was right there with me.  From that day on, my prayers were different.  I felt as though I knew God in a much different way.  I've learned that He is a part of everything I do and say.  He is right there with me whatever I do.  From grocery shopping to dealing with my children -- He is there.  He is the closest companion anyone could ever have.

During the awesome video this morning in church, I was thinking of all the many things the Lord is to me.  He is all of those things that were mentioned, but he had only been my Savior for so many years.   I was missing out on all those other parts of Him.

The Lord has been working on me and showing me that these Christian friends of mine may be Christians and saved, but they don't really KNOW him.  They know him as Savior, but they don't know him as Friend, Counselor, Comforter, etc.  After today's sermon, my conviction is that I need to work on introducing my Christian friends to who the Lord really is -- He's not just Savior -- He is so much more.
