Sowing Good Seed

13:24 Another parable he put before them, saying, "The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field;

The kingdom of Heaven is where the King of Glory rules.  It is also referred to as the kingdom of God.  A kingdom is where a king rules.  Thus the kingdom of God is anywhere God rules. 

So where does God rule?  On earth?  If God is ruling on earth, why does Jesus teach us to pray:  "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven?"  Obviously God's will is not being done on earth or we wouldn't even need to pray such a prayer.

There is a war going on -- an invasion if you wish.  God has invaded the planet as Jesus and as the Holy Spirit.  Now He he wants us to fight to help Him establish His kingdom.  The first step is inside us.  "The kingdom of God is within you."

We must agressively seek to overcome our sins and allow God to set up His kingdom inside of our minds and hearts.  Only then can we spread it to others. 

The kingdom of God is based on seed.  We must sow good seed in our heart and mind -- the Bible, the fruit of the Spirit -- we must "set our affections on things above and not on things on the earth."  We will reap what we sow.

Look at modern day Christianity.  Look how feeble it is.  Look at how compromised.  It is time we began to sow good seed.

Sowing Good Seed indeed is what we as Christians are called to do, to help usher in Gods coming Kingdom...Oh we know that the Kingdom of God is not meat or drink, but righteousness and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost...and that indeed is a good thing, with JESUS being the foundation....But Jesus coming Kingdom shall be on this earth just as it has been foretold all through the bible....He was born, not only to be the Saviour of the world, but also to be the King of the world.....


1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.


No end indeed...It shall be an everlasting Kingdom, which is yet to come....


7:14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion [is] an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom [that] which shall not be destroyed.



7:27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom [is] an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.


Oh His Kingdom *is* coming where everybody will serve and obey Him, and it won't be long now.....Meanwhile, I shall continue to occupy until He comes....by sowing good seed ;o)

Brother Steve, Please don't tell me that this is the kingdom. It could be the kingdom hall's kingdom, they believe that the riches will be turned over to them during the 1000 year reign. I like that everlasting kingdom like Sister Mar Jay talking about not one made by man. The one John saw coming down.

Jesus said the Kingdom was at hand, in our midst.  Isn't it amazing how it seems like Jesus just never gets to rule...It's always "in the sweet by and by" instead of "in the sour here and now"!  Jesus is LORD right now...and we are to advance His Kingdom in this earth.  That's how it "gets" here.  Is it the Father's good pleasure to give us the Kingdom?  Yes, it is.
