Yesterday our church held its first worship service in our new facility. Well, new is relative. The church was built in 1897 and has been maintained very well. The service was great! It did feel a bit weird, though. For 7 years, we have met in a school gym. To actually be in a building and to not have to worry about setting up and tearing down was a bit of culture shock!
It has been such a blessing to see what God has done in and through us over the past 7 years. And I can't wait to see what He does in and through us in the years ahead now that we have an actual place to base our ministry out of!
I have also been blessed to see how the people of the church have banded together. The past 7 years have been tough. Many have left for an easier road. But many have stuck it out and many have joined us while in the "wilderness." We have fasted, prayed, trusted God, struggled, wept, and laughed together. God has been good. But what should I expect - He is good and all that He does is good! |
