| IN THE MIDST OF DISTRESS |

51:5 My deliverance draws near speedily, my salvation has gone forth, and my arms will rule the peoples; the coastlands wait for me, and for my arm they hope. In times of severe trial, the Christian has nothing on earth he can trust in, so he is compelled to cast himself on the Lord. We can actually thank God for the hurricanes that blow our souls toward Him. Since we have only God to trust in, let us put our full confidence in Him. Do not dishonor your Lord by entertaining doubts and fears. Be strong in your faith, giving glory to God. Now is the time for feats of faith and valiant exploits. Be strong and very courageous. The Lord your God will certainly glorify Himself in your weakness and magnify His might in the midst of your distress. Charles Spurgeon Morning By Morning |
