A very good friend of mine advocated a few years ago for me to write a personal mssion statement. indeed in secular industry it has been a requirement that they have a corporate statement for a number of years. It has been used to guide them to the lofty heights of their corporate goal and encouraged the employees to work toward that vision. What about the people of God? Shouldn't we write our own personal mission statements? I took up the challenge and have to say that it changed my life in a way that I did not expect. It gave me clear direction and focus as to why God had put me on the planet and what He wanted me to do. The questions posed don't have to be particularly hard but by their sheer nature are thought provoking and will cause soul searching as to your specific calling and direction. Remember we are all unique, created in His image for His special purpose. Why not give it a go? Here are a few questions to think about prayerfully, the preferred method is to write them down on a piece of paper and to use them to formulate your personal mission statement to which you can review daily: 1. Why do I exist? 2. How has God shaped me up to now? 3. What is God calling me to accomplish? Believe me you will find direction and focus Proverbs 29:18 (King James Version) Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
