I can almost hear you singing, Mike :-)

BTW, have you seen this?

Norm - I've deleted your comments from the team blog where I felt that you didn't read or understand the post...

You're free to express your opinion and frustrations on your own blog.  And you're free to disagree respectfully on mine and the team's blog.  But commenting over and over again with the same complaints is going to get you blocked from commenting on the team blog completely.

Say what you need to say once.  Say it respectfully.  And then move on.

As Mike pointed you to, I'm holding a town hall meeting.  You've tried to get my attention multiple times in the past - now you have the opportunity to talk with me directly instead of flailing your arms trying to get me to respond to you.

Perhaps MyChurch is not the place for you?  If I recall, you are one of the folks who always talk about leaving since we're not doing things right here.  Perhaps your gifts and passion can be better used elsewhere on the web?

Mike, How would I normally find that post? It doesn't show up in my list. How are people going to know about that? (Other than those who already know about it or those who hear from you or someone like you?) Joe, You might want to go back and actually look. I know one time in the past, I said this might be my last post for a while, however the big player behind that (as mentioned in that post) was time. (And other than the church things that came in off the RSS feed, it was my last post for a while. ;) ) Let me ask you a question. If your bank suddenly in a spot on their website said they were going to start displaying your Social Security number, what would your reaction be? Would it be one shot to get them to listen? (And what about the others that don't understand the consequences) Why would they do that? Well you can change it back, but it's in the name of openness. You should have nothing to hide. Now for some, who don't know the controls, who haven't been around for a while, this may be as serious for them. As for the mySpace stuff, I made that comparison a long time ago and have probably been on mySpace under 20 times since then. Realize I'm coming from a background where I had to live with all the "i" and "e-" prefixing. And guess what, all of the "e-" were e-commerce stores (who probably in the end would have liked to be Amazon). I'll send a note for the town hall meeting. BTW, I don't really appreciate the avatar (and it certainly doesn't help the trust).

So I'm back to the cat.  Guess it never happened.  Except I have the screenshot to show that it did. Just because I couldn't believe someone thought it was a good idea.

BTW, Mike, I realized I do have a good reason to have my account deleted if the plan is to do this.  There are a number of folks (Dark Phoenix, Artic Monster) who said things on my blog that at the time they said with a certain amount of anonymity.  I shouldn't be the only one feeling responsible for them, but it is what it is.  Deleting my blog would protect them from the things they said at the time, especially if they haven't been on to see this announcement.

I remember Arcticmonster...what an amazing turnaround. Yes, he probably would appreciate if his old posts would "go away". But the ones to your blog are just a tiny drop in the bucket, wouldn't help much. Hope to hear you at the town hall. :-)
