About 5 am our dog, Sugaree, barked like crazy and was trying to get our attention. We told her to lay down and tried to calm her as the lightening and storms always cause her panic. She is 11 and without fail, she loses her calm when we have a rainstorm.
She whimpered and paced and I tried to sleep till 6 in spite of it.
I got up to make coffee when the alarm went off and found the dining room door wide open and rain on the floor. That was the warning Sug was trying to give but we didn't "hear" it. We petted her and loved on her and told her we were sorry we didn't pay any attention to her warnings. It could have been a disaster. Apparently we had not locked this back door or latched it properly and the wind blew it open.
It made me wonder what other warnings I may be ignoring or have ignored.
I am spending my time in prayer lately asking God for wisdom and "listening" for His answers. Warnings are useless if not heeded. Shhhhhh listen......
3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
I've heard many stories like this, and they amaze me every time. I no longer have any pets ;( but I wonder what warnings the Holy Spirit has given me since then that I've ignored... Great blog, and thanks for the food for thought! ;)
