| Separation -- Grace -- Blood -- Repentance -- Abiding In Christ |
|
| |
59:2 but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you so that he does not hear. Sin separates a person from God. Our sins hide God's face from us.
There is only one cure for sin -- the blood of Jesus. This was foreshadowed in the Passover. The blood of a lamb protected the first born from death. However, this was not automatic. You couldn't just walk around and verbally plead the blood of the lamb and be spared.
You had to litterally apply the blood of a lamb to your door post. Blood not applied to your door post did not protect. Also, you had to be inside your house and behind the blood. If you went out to look at the stars (or to relieve yourself) and the death angel came by while you were out there, the blood wouldn't help you.
Today the blood of Jesus cleanses us from our sins. However there are conditions. We must repent and turn away from our sinful thoughts and deeds. We have to abide in a state of repentance. If we go outside of repentance and begin to sin, we need to stop that sin and ask for forgiveness. Jesus, Himself, said that we must "abide." We must apply the blood to our heart post by receiving the living Christ into our heart and making Him our Lord (our absolute Master).
Does this mean that we earn salvation. No way. Did the first born earn his deliverance from the death angel by applying the blood of a lamb. Not at all. All he did was use the method that God gave by grace. We must do the same. By meeting Jesus' conditions of "repent and believe" we personally apply His blood which was given for us by grace.

| Brother Steve, Plain english is the way the Lord speaks. There's no guess work to the plan of Salvation. You must be born again, except you repent, you will perish. I like the way you think, turn or burn. Brother Sanders |
