| Lara Léger from Canada, EH? meets Carolyn from NY I met here on Mychurch! |
|
| |

As many of you know, I had the opportunity to meet and fellowship w/Earthenvessel & his family from TX this past summer. This time I had the opportunity to meet another person from my family here on Mychurch.org, Carolyn. She, her husband, Al and their "adopted" daughter, Naomi, drove 14 hours from Hamlin, NY to see little old me here in the Maritimes in Canada. They were hassled at customs unnecessarly by the Canadians, but only God knows, there could have been a purpose for that time they were detained we may never know. So it was an awesome time! They arrived this past Tuesday night, but we didn't meet til the following day. They needed to rest up after the long drive. Our first day, we got Chinese food at the best buffet in the city. Yum! The following day, I took them to see the Hopewell Rocks (flower pot rocks) in Hopewell Cape, NB, home to the world's highest tides. Al went down the long flight of stairs to gather some rocks & souveniers on the ocean's floor, while us ladies stayed upstairs, along w/Josiah. Naomi has Spinal Bifida, so is wheelchair bound, and I didn't feel so confident about carrying her down such long steep stairs!
After walking the paths, we went to the restaurant. They were dissapointed they didn't see any moose, but Al still got his picture taken with one. Haha!
Then, I just had to take them to Guy's Frenchys for shopping! We get all the Americans castaways for dirt cheap! It's a treasure hunt. You dig through bins for clothes, and oft times, you can even get brand new stuff with the tags still on! As you can see, they got a whole bunch of stuff, and I had fun acting like an idtiot, digging through the Odds bins. I think I belonged in the Odds bin! lol

After Al was such a great sport, waiting in the van for us, as we shopped, the following day we found a museum, since he likes that sort of thing. We all enjoyed it. There was a cool old 1700's Lutheran Bible in German there, and everything. We had opportunity to walk the boardwalk in Moncton, and picnic at the Tidal Bore park. The mosquitoes were biting hard that day!!!

The last full day for them here, I took them to Bouctouche, to see the Irving Tree garden with over a hundred different kinds of trees, plus a lovely chapel. We walked along the paths, toured the garden and then we ate at Dixie Lee's for lunch.

Then I decided they needed to get their pictures taken at the home of the world's largest lobster, in Shediac. Police were directing the heavy traffic and stopped us when they saw the NY liscence plate. With a big grin on his face, he asked if there were any Yankees fans in the van. lol!

After running around Moncton looking for a souvenier shop (to no avail), we headed back to my house to eat some late supper.
The last day, they went to our church with us, and really enjoyed the service. Naomi even went up front during the worship time, and danced in her wheelchair. Al, Carolyn's husband, was itching the entire time to get to an A&W, since there are no longer any there in NY, and it reminds him of his childhood. So after church, we ate there. :) Then we had to say our good-byes, so they could make the long drive back home. So it was a great time! God is good. He knows I've been pretty isolated out here in the boonies. I mean Al was so shocked at just how isolated we are. I mean we's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out in the middle of nowhere! No playgrounds, hardly any people and no nothing except trees, trees and more trees. It's amazing to meet people you have only known on the internet and the phone, in person. Carolyn, her husband, Al and Naomi were a delight! God was there with us. He blessed us with the perfect weather! Just blessed our time together so very much! Any of you wanna come visit Lara Léger in Canada, eh? By then I'll be back in the city, so all the better. You're more than welcome! I love to play the tour guide, and practice makes perfect! lol Thanks, Carolyn, Al and Naomi for coming all that way to visit me, and blessing me so much with your presence. It was awesome! And I'm sure my little Josiah would say, "Mank you" as well. ;)

| "trees, trees and more trees." Now where have I heard that? LOL!!! Its the first thing I spotted before even landing in Canada. Anyway Lara, two families down, three hundred odd thousand to go. Can I be one of them? I'm highly potty trained, quiet - and a good little boy. The rest you already know, ROTFLOL!!! |

Lara, you better believe we's family! It is awesome that you met another one of us! Hmm, I'm wondering if Carolyn is on my friends list.... Well, if you are ever in the states, and you make your way to our nation's capital, I'll be highly offended if you don't drop in and see Mike n Laura Espéy, lol. |

Wow, it's gorgeous up there Lara! I love the rocks down at the shore! Looks like all of you had a great time, I'm so glad. It would be cool to make it up there, if we got a chance. Since my schedule has opened up for now, we might be able to travel that way. Our next couple of weeks are busy, and we're heading down to NC to see my fam down there. Elijah, our youngest is soooo cute! I'm a dad, and I can't stand it! haha. He's just starting to goo and talk to us. I know if we did make it up, Christopher and Josiah would totally hit it off! |

| Yes, they totally would! Josiah isn't used to having someone to play with, but he loves boys who are full of energy! Well, you mentioned that ministry to me that is in Halifax, Nova Scotia before, so if you checked that out, you're 4 hours away from us. We're praying for a 3 bedroom place so we got room for guests. :) |
