One hundred eighty-five women (including over 100 non-BCC-ers!) had a wonderful time at BCC last Friday night! Lynette Pickering caught our attention from the moment she walked in carrying her feather duster. With humor and songs, she shared her life story -- her expectations, the joy of meeting those expectations, and the emptiness that somehow remained. Every woman could identify with at least one of the various ways she tried to fill that void -- family, work, food, and shopping. I think we were caught off-guard when she shared the rage that developed as the emptiness grew. Through it all, we were reminded that there is an emptiness inside each of us that can ONLY be filled by God Himself! How amazing that He would create that emptiness, and even more so, that He LONGS to fill it!

According to the response cards at least 20 women responded to God's call on their lives. Pray with us that each woman who was here will move closer to the Lord as they remember the things they heard from Lynette. Pray that these women will heed the Holy Spirit's nudging and come themselves, and with their families, to BCC -- or to another Christ-centered church. Pray they will find tools to help them to grow in knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray that many will trust Him in faithful dependence on His mercy and grace.

Only God knows for sure the lasting impact of this event -- but I trust it will be far greater than we asked or imagined!
