No arguments from me, Beverly! :-) The H.S. is deeply personal...more personal than perhaps any of us can ever imagine! I usually refer to him as "him" - granted the Spirit has no gender. You would be surprised how eye opening this blog may be to some. Thanks for writing it!

Thanks all, for reading and responding. I believe the Holy Spirit is my best friend who speaks to me and walks with me and sounds the alarm when needed. So sad that so many ignore Him. He really wants to be a part of our lives, and we need Him so desperately.

Beverly, thank you for writing this on time blog.  I try to include the Holy Spirit in my blogs and comments whenever I get the chance because He is the most important factor in the life of the believer as stated in the book of John.

Many however, are not taught the principles of the Holy Spirit and therefore, are sadly oblivious to the one who was sent by Jesus Christ to help them.

Shalom my friend
Your sister in Christ

Thanks Marcia. I grew up in a church that only acknowledged the Holy Spirit as we recited the Apostle's Creed and sang the Doxology. When I began to really study the Word in high school, my curiosity was aroused. Now I don't know how I'd even know how to pray without Him, and I don't just mean tongues. Wonderful Christian brothers and sisters miss so much of what God has for them because they either ignore or don't know, as Mike said earlier, how "deeply personal" and intimate He is. The Hebrew word for the Spirit is ruwach; the Greek is pneuma. Both refer to breath. He is as close and intimate as our breath. As they say around here, "If that don't light your fire, your wood is wet!"

Amen! I am glad that the Father sent the Holy Spirit as a comforter! God really used this blog to helped me realize that I should rest in Him!

You know Bev, my spiritual mother would also cringe whenever she heard the Holy Spirit referred to as an it as well.  The interesting thing is that the Apostle Paul never read the Gospels, so he was not privy to the info of the H.S. as Comforter. Paul often referred to H.S. as a holy thing, agia (gk).  I guess the best of us have made that mistake.  So keep up the good work telling the people of His wondrous works.

Beverly He is in every born again believer.  What power G-d has given mankind.. Sadly many are not really born again and would not be able to understand what we are referring to because like the word states, spiritual things are spiritually discerned.

A very important blog here.  Thanks for posting it.  What would we do without the Holy spirit in our lives?  And so many people in this world don't know about Him...

Dear Beverly, I totally agree with you...the Holy Spirit is not an it. He is a person...The third person in the Holy Trinity and lives in the heart of every believer...Great blog...Love ya in Christ! PC
