I had a speech student several years ago who fancied himself quite the comedian, and kept his classes pretty disrupted engaging in his particular "humor," which was always just short of really breaking the rules. He said in a speech one day, "I like living on the edge, You know why? Because it's so close to falling off." Well, he got his laugh for the statement, but I have often wondered since how many people really do live their lives that way. "A little lie, a little bad language, a little porn, a little playing with the Ouija board, only a little hate . . . A little couldn't hurt, right? "Behold I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who practices falsehood. I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the Bright Morning Star" (Rev. 22:12-15). When Jesus returns as He said He would, may He not find us too close to the edge. 22:12 "Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense, to repay every one for what he has done. |

[star!] | My goodness, I really have to admit I have mixed feelings when I think about that day. Utter joy that pain, suffering and heartache for God's chosen (including me) are over. But trepidation, to outright fear, at having to stand before the Judge! |

| I, too have mixed feelings over the day Jesus returns... Standing firmly on the ground I am awaiting the day I live eternally in Heaven with my Savior, my Daddy. Yet there is sadness and fear for those who are "playing games" so to speak... You can't be standing firmly and still playing games! There are 2 choices, either back up, turn around and go back to the firm ground or stay teetering on the edge. But whatever you deciced to do Jesus is coming back! |

[star!] | I have a fear of falling! I also have a fear of heights, so I really don't like the edge. With my clumsy self...I would probably fall off. Now, I didn't say I was a goody 2 shoes, or perfect or anything remotely close, but I guess I have that reverance instilled in me from an early age..."Don't do anything that you wouldn't do if you knew Jesus would come back right then!" Thank God for his amazing grace! |
