I had a speech student several years ago who fancied himself quite the comedian, and kept his classes pretty disrupted engaging in his particular "humor," which was always just short of really breaking the rules. He said in a speech one day, "I like living on the edge, You know why? Because it's so close to falling off." Well, he got his laugh for the statement, but I have often wondered since how many people really do live their lives that way. "A little lie, a little bad language, a little porn, a little playing with the Ouija board, only a little hate . . . A little couldn't hurt, right?

"Behold I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who practices falsehood. When Jesus returns as He said He would, may He not find us too close to the edge.
