We just had this lesson with those very same scriptures last week. Confirmation? I think so.    :o)

Hi Juanita.  So many of us wrestle with storms in life, some of which can send us over the top.  So here's a secret.  Let Jesus into the boat.

Teresa, send me your address in a private message, this book is yours when I finish. Love you guys, all of you. Mule, always get those confirmations, those aha moments! Stevie....or at least keep your eyes on Him instead of the waves as we hear in these sermons. One of my favorite songs is by Bryan Duncan (lyrics below)

(During the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. 'It is a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus said to them, "Take courage. It is I, don't be afraid," don't be afraid, don't be afraid...)

Open up my eyes, I pray
Lord, for just a little glimpse of you
That's all I need, it's all I've ever needed
To see beyond myself, beyond this tiny, little world
All your hands have made
With beauty and strength alone
I can see you comin' to me now
Oh, like a shimmerin' light
Shimmerin' light on an open sea
Barefoot on the water
Laughin' at the ocean
Like you were old friends
Callin' out my name
Saying join me now

Strollin' on the water
High over every care
Strollin' on the water
Sinking no longer
Let me rise above the high tide
I can do it, I'll do it, yeah
I know where my strength comes from
Do do do do do do, do do do do do do, do do do do do do

Help me cut these bonds where I keep my spirit tied
All safe and dry
Safe and dry, but so afraid
Let me come to you
Let me run to you
With my heart still beating
Beating in my throat
With my sweaty palms and mouth so dry
Shakin' 'til I can't stand still
All I'm askin'
All I'm askin' is to let me cross
That great divide between you and I
Only you can take me there
So take me there, yeah!

Strollin' on the water
High over every care
Strollin' on the water
Sinking no longer
Let me rise above the high tide
I can do it, I'll do it, yeah
I know that you said, "follow me"

Juanita, we'll pray that Joyce keep her eyes on Him.

Thanks Tim, She wrote this book after her daughter took her life. Teresa lost her daughter and I lost a husband and son to suicide. It it beautifully written with the Lord center and forefront. It was written so long ago and I quoted it rather than change it but we need to put our own name in her place when we struggle with fear. This may be good for Tina as she faces treatments again. It isn't just for death, but fear in general whenever it rears up. Finances, health, whatever. hugs juanita

Juanita..... Jeneane Sackett was in my brother's youth group, her older brother was in mine. In fact he was one of my best friends. So I was VERY close to this tragedy. Mr and Mrs Sackett were among the most spiritual people I've ever known, and yet... their daughter's death rocked that family, knocked em backwards and appeared to severely truncate their growing family ministry. (Although their son, my former friend, went on to be a pastor.) I never knew, until now, that Joyce wrote a book about that. I must find a copy. I am glad that it ministered to you! I'm glad she wrote it! Many have gone through what she has. It should be clear to us why God allows it. The powerful ministry of identification with people's pain!!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/157683719X/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new  Mike there are four new ones on Amazon starting under 2 bucks new plus 4 for shipping. I finished it today and would have sent it to you but told Teresa I would send it to her and actually noted all throughout the book in margins, personal comments about how this book ministered to me. I am so amazed at this. Jeanine was born in 69 and died in 89. It is powerfully written and much of it I could mirror from my experience with Landon, some I could not as it was different circumstances.

I had NO idea of course that you knew her but there are details that I am sure that you will grasp more than I. It spoke of her friend Paul that died 8 months before in an auto accident.

Wow, this book really really touched me and yet it was written about five years ago, 15 years after the suicide.

It also has photos so yes, you would want that.

Much love, juanita
