| Help! I need a chorus! |
|
| |
I thought it might be cool to see if anyone could come up with a suitable chorus for a hymn I am arranging.
Here are the verses:
O Christ, our hope, our heart's desire Redemption's only spring, Creator of the world art Thou, It's Savior and it's King.
How vast the mercy and the love Which laid our sins on Thee, And led Thee to a cruel death To set Thy people free.
But now the bonds of death are burst, The ransom has been paid; And Thou art on Thy Father's throne, In glorious robes arrayed.
O Christ, be Thou our lasting joy Our ever great reward; Our only glory may it be To glory in the Lord! (The meter is 8.6.8.6.)
I have an idea that the chorus would start with "O Christ our hope..." and from there I'm just kinda stuck. I've already got the music down but I need help with the words. Anybody? |

|
| The time is 4 beats per measure with the words beginning on the second half of the first beat. Tempo is moderate. |

To Thee I sing, my hearts desire My Savior and my love. Death no longer binds my heart, Your love shines forth with joy. (this is the part i don't quite like..)
Ok, first attempt, but maybe a starting point. I like the idea of using a thought from each verse in the chorus, in this case i think it can bind the whole thing together. |

O Christ our Hope, and our main Man. He can do thangs better than anybody can. He can spit in your eye and make you see; And even save your soul with nails and a tree. |

Thanks, just got back from vacation and I was itchin to see what my buddies was doing while I was gone. Looks like you been working on music stuff, that's cool. I'm a bit of a musician myself. I play the grass blade. Yeah, it's only one note but it's purty loud if you blow on it just right! |

What do you think of this?
O Christ, our hope, our heart's desire Our great and mighty King; O Chist, our love, our great reward, To Thee we gladly sing. (alt. To Thee our praise we bring) |
