10:10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly. Pastor Dean starts the illustrated message with a crow bar and a full mask to cover all your face to conceal your identity. To be an effective robber, one might need a 9 mm piece ( gun ) with a clip to convince those that he would rob, that he means business. We know that anyone that's been born again is not a robber. But there is a master thief and a robber the devil. The devil has all the equipment, he needs to rob you of all you have. How many times has Satan stole the joy from a child of God? King David said, restore unto me the joy of thy salvation. Why would God take away David's joy? For he has made me glad, he has made me glad, I will rejoice, for he has made me glad, sings David unto the Lord. Who put the hatred in Saul's daughter, ( David's wife ) towards David that she would despise him, as he dance before the Lord? This killing and stealing and destroying has to do with marriages sometimes. How many times has the devil attacked men or women that were being used to minister the gospel by destroying their homes? How many times has the devil attacked people's health and robbed them of useful service to God? How many times has the devil lied on a man or woman of God, to discredit their Godly testimony? Satan the father of lies, why would anyone be so simple minded to think that he would lie on them? How many Christians have allowed themselves to get caught up in something that will rob them of influencing others for Christ? How many times in a moment of anger that something comes out that of a believer's mouth not very Christ like? Seems like on one side there's a little Satan saying, if I was you, I wouldn't let them get by with that I'd punch them in the face. Then on the other side a little angel saying, love those that despitefully use you, and turn the other cheek, give no place to the devil. The devil has mastered stealing believer's children that were raised in church. Why does the things of the world have such an attractions to those that should and do know better? Being a Christian is such a drag, you can't do this and you can't do that. Just like the robber of your soul would have you to believe getting high and spaced out is really where it's at. Dealing with a robber takes knowing his devices, Paul said, we are not ignorant of Satan's devices? The weapons of our warfare is not carnal but spiritual, to the pulling down of strongholds. The devil is defeated and he knows that his time is short. His desire is to rob you of all the many blessings that God has in store for the believer. The promises of God are many, by these stripes, we were healed, as many as received him, them gave he power to become the sons of God. Dealing with this robber requires a knowledge of God's word, Satan knows his limits and that God will make a way of escape, when your being tempted above what you can stand. |
