| SEE God, look UP!! |
|
| |
19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. 19:2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. 19:3 There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. 19:4 Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. What do we see when we look up into the sky? Do we see the glory, the magesty, the power, the vastness, the beauty, the love (etc.) of our God, whose handiwork we are daily witnesses to? Do we pause and awe at something infinitely larger than ourselves? Or do we glance disinterestedly at the sky, promptly turning our attention back to our small personal affections? Do we completely ignore the immensity of God clearly visible above us, too intent on the little things that have stolen our attention? Are we ourselves the biggest thing we see?
1:20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
God is proclaiming himself, and language is no barrier when it comes to understanding the voice of the heavens and skies! God is no secret, and he doesn’t actually need us, or anyone, to open people’s eyes to him, because he has already made himself plain for all to see. (Though it is our privilege to be able to share his glorious truths, to play a part in the salvation of people!)
What, or who, we see when we look into the heavens and skies says something about the orientation of our hearts. Every person is a worshiper. We choose either to recognize God, and thus worship him, or to disregard God, and thus set ourselves up in his place.
The heavens and skies are pouring forth speech, declaring God’s glory in every language, to be seen and understood throughout all the earth! Wanna see God? Just look up!!! |

[star!] | Very Amen! I think of that so much during this time of the year with the beautiful season of autumn. Went to the lake to walk yesterday, and the brilliant sky and the (almost turning in Alabama) leaves and the water--Wow! God indeed speaks to us in a language beyond words, and He tells us of His love to have created such a marvelous place for us. And if this is so good, just imagine what heaven will be! |

[star!] | So right you are Mike. When I baby-sit Destiny and Neenee... and they are asleep, I watch Nova, The Discovery Channel... things like that sometimes. I love the shows where scientists keep getting deeper and deeper into the great cosmos. It is so amazing. I always hear a different story than the one they are telling... I look at those pictures and hear the scriptures. Amen?

[star!] | Amazing Stu!
God IS all around us and if you ask Him you'll see Him or be able to talk to Him. I know I have.
It's a great thing to see someone believe the same things I do, even if you don't live anywhere near me:D |

That's great for you, Prayer Warrior! How can we become discouraged when we see God around us? :-) Panda, thanks for your faithful encouragements! :-) Bev...."language beyond words", I like how you put that. I too love autumn! The colors are beautiful indeed! (hehe, glad you fixed your comment) Preston, those shows are fascinating, and it's interesting how even those shows proclaim God's eternal goodness and yet the producers often don't even realize it! (or do they? we can hope...) Pat, thanks, and that IS amazing! God's handiwork is everywhere. Makes you wonder. Why would he create such beauty where no one can behold it? Answer: because it's his nature to be beautiful and to create beautiful things! (well, my answer at least) |

When I look around me I see the Master Artist is working should it be the trees changing colours, the wonderful sunsets, white stretches of sandy beaches. Today the tide was grey and very high but other days it is as smooth as a millpond. Yes God's the Master artist and craftsman. |

[star!] | I took mail out this morning and looked up. It was so foggy I couldn't see anything but a bunch of foggy smoke. I guess God makes that to, sorta reminds me of my relation with him.Sometimes I see cleary, sometimes I only see fog, but he's still there. |

| Hmm, interesting observation Crystal! (and perfectly valid!) Even reminds me of what Pat wrote above, about the beautiful fish dwelling in the blackest depths of the sea. Why would God "hide" such beauty? Well, he didn't exactly hide it, it's just his nature to create beauty, always and everywhere. :-D |

[star!] | Awesome, awesome blog little brother. Just LOOK UP and see his glory and majesty. I have always been fascinated with stars, sky, earth and things that grow and have been truly amazed with my Fathers handiwork. How could he pay so much attention to these things and not love His children. I pray that one thing I have left as an inheritance for my grandkids is to pay attention to our Fathers work. It is truly beautiful and can never truly be replicated by man. Through His workmanship He is saying to all of us " I LOVE YOU" and here is proof.
Much Love |

Thank You Mike! There are only two ways that I know of that God can be praised for His heavenly handiwork (Heavenly, whether above, or, beneath). He can be praised because of you and me being created, or, if we choose not to praise Him, then, He could cause rocks (stones) to cry out to Him in praise, worship, and, adoration. He gifted us with many senses, we gift Him back by using these senses to acknowledge Him as Glorious. |

[star!] | I have always been a big fan of sunsets and clouds and blue skys and wide open spaces. Now I know why! Thanks Mike! Just think God made all of that for us to enjoy and at the same time He is sending us a message. I love you, I made you, and you can always count on Me. |

Oh, I should have said, two ways on earth, unless the Angels are visiting earth. Certainly the Angelic Creatures are among the greatest praisers! The Psalmist took some poetic license and anthropormorphized some things:
Psalms 148 Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise him in the heights. Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts. Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens. Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created. He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass. Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps: Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word: Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars: Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl: Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth: Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children: Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven. He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the Children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the LORD. |

[star!] | Is there room for yet another comment on here???
I've been battling a nasty headcold this week and as I took a [rather slow] walk outside today I could feel healing from the sun's rays and renewal from the sight of the beautiful leaf colors around me. And did you see the sunset Monday night? The Creator of all nature made all things seen and unseen for His glory and all we have to do is (as you said) look up! Thanks for this blog MIke. Much appreciated. |

[star!] | Even in the late evenings when Jim decides to burn a fire in our fire pit as we often do and sit around it and hardly talk, just a word here and there and watch the wood burn, Jim wil always say, look at that sky, NC stars are the best. lol
He loves looking up from our yard but I get excited about a praying mantis or ladybug or bud on my orchid or yeah, looking up day or night.
I am excited about God today. He is blessing in the midst of the storm. Even storms are exciting to watch from the haven of my chair with hot coffee and a book. I am blessed to know you and where is Stu? lol
