2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own people, that you may declare the wonderful deeds of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. I Peter 2/9
Many are saying that they cannot be perfect The Word from Apostle Peter tells me differently and that is a fact People are living their lives without reading the Word Their understanding darkened having no clue about the Lord
Their minds are clouded dwelling on their favorite sin Not being enlightened with the written Word, nor are they born-again
They have taught themselves to speak and believe their own lies Not realizing that they are entertaining Satan and have put the Holy Spirit to flight What I do know is that we all must die
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord It is our soul that will be judged
Jesus said, if we reject Him, He will reject us before His Father We must do the choosing, life or death is in our own hands down here
Reject His Holy Spirit and die physically and Spiritually Embrace His Holy Spirit and live victoriously!
My prayer is that we all see the truth Because it is told even the elect can be fooled
It is a frightening thing to fall into the hands of the living G-d I would not want this plight on my worst enemy, no, no, my Lord!
So let us encourage each other to good works and faith towards G-d till the end I pray I meet you in heaven my friend

[star!] | Amen, sis. and to die in this present body to self, is to have Christ and the Power of the Holy Ghost living in us taking charge, so we CAN live above sin. :D That's so encouraging that it can be done, but not of my efforts, but His. But I gotta sow sow sow into the relationship. |

Dear Marcia, to suggest that Christians who read the Bible and come to different conclusions than you are "living their lives without reading the Word", "having no clue about the Lord", "dwelling on their favorite sin", etc. is not very charitable. :-( There are quite a few passages of scripture that at least suggest that sinless perfection in our earthly bodies is not possible, even though that is something we should strive to do for our Lord. Here is just one, in words uttered by our Lord himself. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. (Luke 11:3-4) Jesus tells us this is how we should pray. He tells us to ask daily for our provision of food, followed by a daily prayer of forgiveness. If we never sin, why would that be necessary? (I'm not trying to argue a point or convince anyone of anything different, dear sister. Merely offering another perspective in the spirit of brotherly love. God bless!) |

Mike, The message in 1 Peter is to live a life to the call of holiness and purity. The whole point of Jesus Christ coming to this earth, dying for humanity and sending back His Holy Spirit to help those who will receive His help is so that we can become free of sin. All sins has consequences and the curses spoken of in the book of Deuteronomy chapter 28 cannot be broken until total submission to the commands of Jesus Christ is done by the individual and Jesus Christ provided the Holy Spirit for that purpose. Mike, the book of Revelation tells us who will enter into the kingdom of G-d, and if I tell anyone otherwise, Matthew chapter 5/19-20 will be my recourse.
5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. Those verses of scripture says it all for me. Mike, we are commanded by the Master Himself, Jesus Christ, to repent, meaning turn away completely and He provided His Holy Spirit to give us all the help we need to be victorious over sin. He said He will not leave or forsake us so we have no excuse to continue living a life of sin. I am merely asking that my "brothers" and "sisters" " In Christ" encourage and uphold me in my pursuit of holiness and righteousness as I continue to encourage all and I am sorry that you take it as a lack of charity. To me, real love is trying to get someone to where the blessings lie and according to the written Word, only those who overcome all things will enter in.

Yes sister Lara, we not only can but we must be victorious over our flesh for the Word tells us:-
4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. and....
4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. and....
4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse [your] hands, [ye] sinners; and purify [your] hearts, [ye] double minded. and....
4:9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and [your] joy to heaviness. Lara, it is my solomn vow to my Lord to uphold His righteousness and with the presence and power of His Holy Spirit it will be accomplished.
Thank you for your encouragement sister. Let us go on to encourage each other to good works, especially as we see the day approaching. |
