OMGosh! so sorry about your friend!  When you're that young it doesn't matter how "well" you know a friend, everyone mourns!!! I do know this!!!  Maybe your parents don't realize it.  I just pray God's comfort over you and the friends and family of the loved one.

I would like to ask a bunch of questions to better understand your situation with your step dad, but perhaps now isn't the time. I just pray that the Lord would get a hold of your entire family and that peace would prevail over the household.  I pray God would give you peace and wisdom to deal with whatever life throws at you.  He's always there.  Sometimes we don't feel Him, but by faith we know He's there.  

I don't have any "there there" responses.  those are useless and insincere. I just pray for some miracles to happen in your family.  And I pray that you would begin to walk in what Jesus has called you in to, so that no matter what happens around you, you will know that your life has purpose and meaning and that you must keep on pushing on.
