| Doing Away with Time |

3:8 But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. We forget that God is timeless not just eternal. He exists outside of time and the physical universe so physical laws do not apply. God can see a thousand years ago as easily as today or next year. What that does to our theology is amazing. When we die, we slip out of the time envelope as well. The next moment can be a thousand years to us and would make no difference.
So when I die, I stand before the Lord. It doesn't matter that I died in 1078 a.d. Time is irrelevant. I do not have to worry over being separated from my loved ones. What's a few decades to God or us? Just a moment. The more I think about it, the more my mind spins. No wonder God said His ways were not our ways. One day we shall know all this. What a day that will be! Have a good one today. Michael |
