I suppose that whatever we do that profanes that which is holy and good arouses the indignation of Christ. The story of the Temple Revolt as theologians refer to it reminds us of the big difference between religiosity and spirituality. People have always used the church and religion for self gain. It is nothing new and continues today in contemporary society. Many atrocities over the years have been done in the name of Christ. Even the institutional church can be self centered and put all its efforts into feeding itself at the expense of others. It is something we must all be on guard of. Love to all.
