| The Woman Who Lost Her Infant Son |

I once knew a woman who had been angry at God for many years. As a result, she had stopped attending church most of that time. For some reason she confided in me the whole story and asked me why God had taken her infant son and the years she could have spent with him as a mother. She wanted to know if God would allow her the time with her son that He had taken away. How do we answer such a question? No one knows why God allows these thing, but we do know one thing for sure as this verse tells us. One day even this dear woman's mourning will be gone. And, as I mentioned to her, if there will be no more tears, that also means there will also be no more reason for those tears. God will somehow fix it all up. We don't know how, but we do know that we will no longer have a reason to cry. That woman took great comfort in this prophecy. I do too. 21:4 he will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away." |
