Dead man walking the line!
I was just thinking about the film Green mile starring Tom Hanks where the convict repeatedly says 'Dead man walking the line!' in repetitive rehearsal for his execution by electric chair. To some extent he was blessed in knowing his fate and could prepare for that inevitable day when he would die. What about those who don't know the day and never contemplate their existence past the veil of death? Are they preparing for that inevitable day when God demands their life? Eternity is a long time to remember that we forgot God when in life we had the chance.
Everything in life costs; we buy a lottery ticket in the hope of winning millions to live what we think is going to be 'the good life' with no worries. Those with any wisdom at all already know that big money brings a big problem that is why our Lord preaches about a life of simplicity and self sacrifice.
Making a decision for Jesus costs nothing and the reward is more than you could ever imagine, you'll have more happiness in your life and a joy in your heart that goes beyond human understanding. He'll give you a peace about yourself in difficult situations that others will marvel at and a great love for those around you no matter who they are or what their circumstances. Most of all He'll give you life eternal that is a life in abundance of spiritual wealth that starts here right now once you ask Him to come into your life.
Here's the invitation, tomorrow is Sunday why not go down to your local Church and ask the Minister or Preacher about Jesus and tell him that you want to make a new start? I promise you, you won't be disappointed. Reader's not on Mychurch wishing to leave a comment click here |
