| A God Sort of Day |

The service at our church this past Sunday was extremely heart warming. It was officially called "The New Life Story", our church being The New Life Church of Christ. There were four different people who got up to tell their "story", of their lives and how they have been touched by God.
A couple got up with their son to tell about his birth and how things quickly went wrong. He was born with a lot of problems, and still has a lot to overcome, but they are somehow struggling on. He is walking with help, and he has a small vocabulary, so there has been progress, but he still isn't where he should be, developmentally, at his age. I don't know how they stay so strong, but I know that their little boy is so sweet...
Our youth pastor told of his sister's death, and his anger towards God, and how he has dealt with it. We have all struggled from time to time with what God allows to happen. It is humbling to see someone who obviously has the love of God in him, and to know that he struggles just as much as I do.
One extremely touching testimony was by a man who received a kidney not too long ago, from his dad. He was not a Christian, although he had been raised in a Christian home, he had essentially walked away from the faith. I remember last year, in our women's bible study class, his mother asking for prayers for him. I remember her tears at what he was going through, and how it was compounded by the fact that he had turned away from God. And now, to see his new life!!! It is awesome!!! I can't even describe the feeling of joy that I felt, having known where he was, and where he is now. Praise be to God!
A dear friend of mine, told how she was so lost, not having been raised in a Christian home, and how she chose the wrong path to walk so often, and also how she had a miscarriage which she thought that she deserved because she had been drinking and smoking when the child was conceived. She told of how God spoke to her, and how she turned her life around.
All of these people are miracles of God...people whose lives were either on the path to destruction, or whose lives were altered by some earth shattering event, that caused them to doubt God. The fact that they were willing to stand up in front of the whole congregation and tell their story, is so amazing to me.
I just wanted to share a little of what went on in our service. It was a "tissue" sort of day, and brought a lot of tears to a lot of people. But it was a God sort of day too, one where He makes His presence known in a BIG way, through the lives of people He has touched. I feel so blessed to be a part of this church, to be able to see the way He touches lives, and works His miracles. It never ceases to amaze me all that He can do.
