I just got home from our latest building team meeting at Faith Baptist Church. As I got out of my car, I just stood there for several minutes and looked in awe at the spread of stars above me. I mean, the sky tonight is just spectacular!
As I looked, I could not help but praise my Father for displaying such beauty and power, and yet loving me, and thinking of me the way He does. 8:4 What is man, that you keep him in mind? the son of man, that you take him into account? Then I thought about all the people who refuse to admit that there must be a Creator of all of this splendor we can see. The Bible was right on when it called those types of people, "fools." 14:1 The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none that does good. Finally, I remembered another psalm of David, where he also must have thought of the beauty surrounding him, in God's creation. It was a fitting end to my star gazing. 19:1 The heavens are sounding the glory of God; the arch of the sky makes clear the work of his hands.
How Great is our God! I encourage you to spend some time in the Psalms, as they are full of incredible, beautiful praises to God. Many Psalms go great with sunsets, and sun rises, walks through a beautiful forest, or a crystal clear, starry night like I witnessed tonight. Whatever you do, take some time to look up look around, and praise your Father for all He allows us to see and enjoy! God bless, and happy star gazing! Chris. |
