Hadn't heard. Will keep an eye out. I was saved in an ELCA church!

Maybe this is what you're referring to:

Lutherans Urged Not to Punish Gay Clergy in 'Faithful' Relationships

The Christian Post reports that the ELCA caused a stir Saturday after controversially deciding not to punish homosexual clergy who are in sexual relationships. At its annual assembly, the ELCA passed by a vote of 538-431 a resolution urging bishops to refrain from disciplining pastors who are in “faithful committed same-gender relationships”. A day earlier, attendees voted down a measure that would have ended a ban on non-celibate gay clergy. Saturday’s vote, however, means those who violate that policy can no longer be tried or punished.

No, you are correct Shannon, sodomy is universally condemned in the Bible being gay (happy) is commended though. Let's reclaim the language here and not fall into the devil's schemes on hijacking the English language.

The correct title would be: Homosexual or Sodomite Clergy?

It must be remembered that it describes an action.

I'm going to step out on a limb here and say that while I agree fully that homosexuality is a sin, so are my daily failings to be the child of God I should be.  We need godly leaders within out denominational hierarchies that lead our churches to where Scripture leads but we must be so careful that we never come across as unloving and uncompassionate Christians.  We should always err on the side of mercy and let the Father take care of the condemnation.

I agree with Bunny, but my lanquage is not as eloquent....I feel such a sadness at the fact we still seem to "grade" sins....I wonder if ours was as visible or out there what people would be saying about us?  I wonder sometimes if the church would not spend so much time discussing all these issues and start praying about them if we would not see an acceleration of life changing mercy and grace.....perhaps we should be careful , many are called and few are chosen, narrow is the way, few find it.
Where are those that are doing the greater works??
I think the hours is late.....

Thanks for all the input.  I'm a big fan of scripture.  I think my best bet is when I'm wrong I should repent.  Self rightiousness is a personal struggle for me.
