A few weeks ago, I had taken my car to have a recall part placed on it. When I took it in, they told me that all my front end was about to go!!! I needed brakes, ball joints, sway bar link, tires...are you getting the picture? And on top of that I'm having internal transmission problems. With it being a '99 and high mileage when I bought it a little over a year ago, I thought well, maybe I needed to trade it in and get a newer car. So I went about the task of trying to trade it in. Since I have over $2,000.00 negative equity in the car for a trade in they wanted $1,000.00 down. Now if I had the thousand to begin with, I would just have put my car in the shop and said go to it! But for those of you who know me, know that being a single mom is not the easiest place in the world to find yourself financially!!! Ok, it's my income and my income alone! I just kept thinking, what do I do now??? On my way to work one morning, I was praying and I finally said, "Lord, you are just gonna have to work this out cause i don't have a clue what to do next!" Which is what I should have done at the very beginning instead of trying to handle it all myself! So I took my car to a car shop that has worked on my cars over the years. He looked at it and told me what had to be done right away and that we could split up the work so that I could afford it! Well afford is not the right word, more like work as much overtime till I can come up with it is more like it. So my brakes were first! I was wondering where am I gonna get the money. So I went home and there was check in my mailbox that was enough to cover it and left me $18.00 over what my bill was!!!! Thank you Lord!!! So that leaves me about two more times to leave my car at the car doc to get it worked on. WELL, in the meantime, I get in my car and start heading to work. My car makes this awful noise and then it quits making the noise. So I head off across town to go to work. I get up the bypass and notice it smoking from under my hood. I could smell the antifreeze. I turned into the mechanic shop and dropped it off. It was my water pump. Not an expected drop off at all! First I had to thank God that He got me up the hill and to the shop without being stranded on the roadside! So now that left me all weekend wondering how am I gonna come up with the money to pay for this! This is Wednesday after that Friday and my car is finally ready. I called to see how much my bill is and the woman says, "Honey, an angel called here and took care of your bill." I said, "What are you talking about?" She then repeated herself. I asked her if she was joking and she said that she was being serious! I asked who paid it and she said she didn't know! All she knew is that is taken care of and all I have to do it pick my car up!!!! I told you all of that to tell you this...
Too many times, we don't trust God to take care of our needs! We immediately try to take care of it ourselves!!! There was nothing coincidence about these events! God has it all planned out but we don't always ask him to order our steps! Look how this unfolded...I received a recall letter from Ford to replace a part...I took it in and found out what all was wrong with my car (that was a very present danger)...I took it to my mechanic for the brake work (God supplied the funds)...I made it up the hill and to the shop without being stranded (by God's design)...when the bill was due (God supplied the funds by using someone being obedient to His voice). Yes, there is still alot to be done on my car, but God is making it very plain to me that He is in control of EVERYTHING!!!
So when it seems like you've done all you can and you feel like you are at the end of the rope, remember that you are not the one in control anyway. Put your trust in Him for everything! He blesses us everyday in so many ways that we don't even see!!! Some of your biggest blessings are those that are unseen as he protects you in your everyday routine! And, YES, He blesses us in the most AWSOME ways too!!!! He really is everything that I need! All I have to do is believe, trust and obey!!! So don't give up when there seems to be no way...HE WILL MAKE A WAY!!!! ALWAYS!!!! |
